(Minghui.org) Since I have benefited greatly and had many good experiences in making and giving out lotus flowers, I wanted to share this with everyone.

A bunch of origami lotus flowers

One day I noticed a practitioner named Ms. Xu teaching others how to make lotus flowers. I instantly wanted to learn, too. Ms. Xu very patiently taught all of us. I initially had to keep asking her what was the next step, or I made a mistake and needed her to correct my flower. I felt a little embarrassed to keep asking her for help, as the others were also making mistakes or forgetting the next step and asking her similar questions. But Ms. Xu very kindly pointed out the next steps and helped me fix the flowers I was making. The other practitioners and I arranged to meet Ms. Xu at midday to learn, and by the third session I had learned how to make the lotus flowers by myself.

Now that I can make lotus flowers myself, I make them every day. Initially it took me about 35 minutes to make each one. It now takes me just under 20 minutes. When I make lotus flowers, my mind is in a good state. I sit in the lotus position with both legs crossed and listen to Master's lectures.

I live with my parents-in-law and my wife. My wife is a practitioner, and my parents-in-law are not. At first I asked my parents-in-law to pick their favorite colors, and gave them each one. But they each asked for more, and have tied them to their bags and hung them in their room in appreciation.

Since I started making lotus flowers at home, my mother-in-law has been very enthusiastic about giving them out to her friends and to the people she encounters day to day. She often asks me for more lotus flowers. She gives them to people she talks to on the train, at the bank, at the market, and at other shops she visits. She tells each person to whom she gives a lotus flower that her son-in-law hand made it and that Falun Dafa is really good. Each person seems genuinely happy to receive them.

I remember once when I boarded a train with my mother-in-law, which was somewhat crowded. As my mother-in-law is quite elderly and requires a cane to walk, a young man saw her and gave her his seat. I then told my mother-in-law to give him a lotus flower as thanks. He was very happy. A lady sitting next to my mother-in-law at the time wanted a lotus flower as well. They then started talking about Falun Dafa. Even though the train was crowded, it wasn't noisy at all, so most everyone sitting and standing nearby was able to hear their conversation. As my mother-in-law was talking to the lady about the benefits of Falun Dafa, I noticed that others on the train were watching and listening too. My mother-in-law also clarified the truth about the persecution.

I don't normally take taxis, but on a couple of occasions I took a taxi with my mother-in-law and my wife. We gave lotus flowers to the taxi drivers, and they all hung them from their rearview mirrors, which I thought was a great idea, as each passenger can see it. One taxi driver said, “This will keep me safe.” Another taxi driver was very talkative and told us he knew all about the persecution and organ harvesting, and that Falun Dafa practitioners were peaceful and innocent. I'm sure that he will be able to inform many people about the persecution.

On another occasion my wife got her hair cut one evening. It was about closing time for the hair salon, so most of the staff was just standing by. As we were paying for the haircut, we gave a lotus flower to the guy who was taking the payment and to the hairdresser who cut my wife's hair. There were about five other hairdressers standing to the side just watching us. We told them all to come and select a lotus flower of their choice. The guy taking the payment asked, “What's this? Falun Dafa? Do you know about Falun Dafa?” My wife then proceeded to talk about the benefits of Falun Dafa. The guy, however, was more curious as to why the Chinese communist regime was persecuting Falun Dafa, so my wife told him in detail about the persecution and answered his questions, after which he seemed to understand. All along the other hairdressers were watching and listening to them talk. They were all very happy and gave us a warm farewell when we left.

My father-in-law has also become quite enthusiastic about giving people the lotus flowers I make. He has given them to the people he exercises with in the morning, and to his colleagues and their families. He gives them extras as well and says, “Give them to all the people you'd like.”

My mother-in-law recently had a gathering with an association that she is a member of. Beforehand I told her that I would prepare lotus flowers for everyone, and she said she would make sure to give them out to everyone there. It was a great opportunity to reach out to more people.

By making and giving out lotus flowers, we are able to let many people know of the beauty of Falun Dafa.

Whenever any of us gives someone a lotus flower, we always like to tell them, “For your safety and peace.” I certainly believe that and truly hope for a very bright future for all people!
