(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in eight cities or counties and four provinces. In this report, five practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least six practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Liling Taken to Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp
On October 22, 2011, officers from the Xianghe County Police Department in Langfang City arrested Ms. Wang Liling and a dozen other Falun Gong practitioners. The police extorted 30,000 yuan from the families of several practitioners before releasing them. Ms. Wang Liling was held at the Xianghe County Detention Center, and was later transferred to the Langfang Brainwashing Center. The officers from the Xianghe County Police Department demanded 50,000 yuan from her family. Ms. Wang's family refused to be extorted. Ms. Wang was later sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. She has been taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp.
2. [Tanghe County, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Fengwei and Mr. Wang Hua Arrested
Mr. Wang Fengwei, in his sixties, and Mr. Wang Hua, in his thirties, are practitioners in Tongzhaipu Township, Tanghe County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. On January 11, 2012, they went to an intersection of Liugang Road in Yuantan Town, where people who have just migrated to the area lived, to tell them about Falun Gong. The police took them into custody. The two practitioners are being held at the Tanghe County Detention Center. Mr. Wang Fengwei's father, who has been ill and bedridden for years, has been left alone unattended.

3. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Shi Liping Arrested
A group of officers, led by Chen Hongfeng from the Pencheng Police Station in Ruichang, Jiujiang City, smashed the lock to break into Ms. Shi Liping's home on the evening of January 20, 2012. Ms. Shi was taken away by the officers.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Cao Zhicheng and Wife Both Sentenced to Forced Labor
Officers from the Sihezhuang Police Station in Fengtai District, Beijing arrested Mr. Cao Zhicheng on the afternoon of January 16, 2012. At 6:00 p.m., Mr. Cao's wife brought meals to the Sihezhuang Police Station. The officers at the police station took her into custody as well. On January 17, the couple was taken to the detention center operated by the Fengtai District Police Department. On January 20, Mr. Cao and his wife were both sentenced to forced labor.

5. [Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Jiang Chunyan Arrested
Ms. Jiang Chunyan, a practitioner in Wenzhou City, was arrested during the night while distributing truth clarification materials. She is being held at the Lucheng District Detention Center in Wenzhou City.

6. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Xigong Suffers Heart Attack as a Result of Persecution
Mr. Liu Xigong suffered a heart attack in the Qianjin Prison in Tianjin on December 27, 2011. He has since been transferred to the Jinzhong Prison, a prison hospital in Tianjin.
Mr. Liu, 68, and his wife Ms. Jin Xiuwen, 60, are practitioners from Xicheng District, Beijing. Officers from the Xinjiekou Police Station arrested the couple on December 19, 2009. They were each sentenced to four and a half years. Ms. Jin was taken to the Beijing Women's Prison. Mr. Liu was taken to the Qianjin Prison in Tianjin. Mr. Liu had been monitored by several people around the clock. He was also forced to sit on a stool for long hours. He suffered numerous other illnesses in addition to heart problems. He was transferred to the Jinzhong Prison after suffering a heart attack.
7. [Linzhang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Song Zhenhai Arrested
Mr. Song Zhenhai was arrested when he was distributing Falun Gong materials on the evening of January 15, 2012. He is being held at the Ci County Detention Center.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Mingfang Arrested
On the afternoon of January 20, 2012, Nie Zhangquan, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Secretary of Sanhao Village, Duzhou Neighborhood, Changshou District in Chongqing, led district members of the 610 Office and officers from the Duzhou Police Station to Ms. Li Mingfang's home. The officers forcibly confiscated Falun Dafa books and materials. Ms. Li was taken way. She is being held at the Changshou District Detention Center.

9. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Binghuan Tortured in Hebei Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Liu Beinghua, 23, is a practitioner from Shahe City under the jurisdiction of Xingtai City, Hebei Province. She has been held at the Hebei Women's Forced Labor Camp, where she has suffered constant beatings. She has injuries all over her body.
The labor camp guards also poured water on the ground in the building. She was forced to stand in the puddle, sometimes for as long as 17 or 18 hours.
