(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Xiuqing, a farmer from Zhaizhuangzi Village, Taiping Town, the Dagang District, Tianjin distributed New Year pictures bearing messages about Falun Gong in the neighboring village Doujiazhuang at around 10:00 a.m. on January 11, 2012. Officers from the Taiping Town Police Station arrested and took her to the Taiping Town Police Station. Ms. Liu was then taken to the Dagang Police Department Detention Center in the Binhai New Area that same night, and she is still detained there.

Ms. Liu began practicing Falun Gong in 1998, and has benefited both physically and mentally. She used to suffer from kidney problems, and had a swollen abdomen and legs that could not be cured. After she practiced Falun Gong, the swelling disappeared. Ms. Liu's husband is also a simple and honest farmer, and their 15-year-old son is very considerate. The family lives in harmony, and has a good relationship with their neighbors. Liu said that Falun Dafa teaches her to hold herself to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. However, such a good person is being subjected to persecution.

Taiping Town Police Station head Gao Xianghuai ordered several officers, along with officers from the Dagang District Domestic Security Division, to attempt to force Ms. Liu to sign a statement to guarantee that she would no longer practice Falun Gong. When she refused to sign, officer Zhang Hao interrogated her.

At 9:00 p.m. that same night, Ms. Liu's family went to the Taiping Town Police Station to demand her release, but were turned away. Later at 10:30 p.m., Taiping Town Police Station officer Shi Wenbo sent her to the Dagang Police Department Detention Center, where she has been held until today.
