(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Xing Junhua, 49, is a former employee of the Zhuozhou Department Store. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, she has been repeatedly arrested and detained. She served three years in a forced labor camp and four years in prison. The police confiscated her deposit books, bank card, and cash (totaling over 130,000 yuan), and three laptop computers.

On November 6, 2000, Ms. Xing was taken to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp to serve a three-year sentence. She was released in 2003. Because her husband could not endure the heavy pressure from the CCP authorities, he divorced her while she was incarcerated. Ms. Xing was also fired from her workplace.

On October 12, 2007, a total of eleven practitioners, including Ms. Xing, were arrested. Ms. Xing was sentenced to four years in prison on March 27, 2008, and she was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison on April 15. She was severely beaten and force-fed with poisonous drugs. She was released on October 12, 2011. Due to the long-term torture and abuse she suffered over those years, she is mentally unstable. Having been neglected for years, the roof of her house has collapsed, and all of her property has been stolen. She does not have the money to have it repaired.

The following is Ms. Xing's account of the persecution that she has suffered:

Detained for the First Time

On July 20, 1999, Ms. Xing and other practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. They were arrested and taken back home by the Zhuozhou police officers the next day.

In the Spring of 2000, manager Zhu Yongli from Ms. Xing's workplace led a plainclothes officer to Ms. Xing's home. The officer said, “Come to the First Section of the Police Department. We have things to talk about.” Ms. Xing went with him and was later detained for 15 days without any legal procedures.

Detained for the Second Time

Ms. Xing's husband was afraid to be associated with Falun Gong, and one night in August of 2000, he said to her, “If you continue to practice Falun Gong, you must leave. If you don't go, I'll burn the house down.” Ms. Xing and her 13-year-old daughter left home that night. They went to a friend's home the next day. That afternoon, officers from the Yihezhuang Police Station arrested her and issued a 15-day detention. Ms. Xing went on a hunger strike and was later released.

Detained for the Third Time

In October of 2000, Ms. Xing went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested again. Zhuozhou police officers then detained her for 15 days.

Physically Abused

While in the detention center, Ms. Xing and four other practitioners were physically abused because they refused to write guarantee statements. Domestic security officer Xie Yubao and another officer first took Ms. Chen Lingmei and Ms. Zang Cuiqing into the interrogation room. They asked them, “Do you still want to practice Falun Gong?” They answered, “Yes.” The officers slapped their faces with bamboo boards and then shocked them with electric batons. When the two practitioners came out of the room, their faces were swollen and there was blood in their eyes. The officers then took Ms. Xing into the interrogation room and tortured her using the same methods.

Detained for the Fourth Time and Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor

At the end of October 2000, Ms. Xing again went to Beijing to appeal. In Tiananmen Square, a plainclothes police officer asked her, “Do you practice Falun Gong? If not, then swear at Falun Gong's Teacher Li Hongzhi right now. If you don't do it, you must be a Falun Gong practitioner. Get into the car then!” Ms. Xing did not say anything and was forced into the car. She was taken to the Tiananmen Square Police Station, then back to Zhuozhou the next day. She was detained at the detention center for 15 days without any legal procedures.

Because Ms. Xing went on a hunger strike and refused to “transform,” Zhuozhou police took her to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp on November 6, 2000, to serve a three-year term under the excuse that she was “interfering with social order.” While in the forced labor camp, Ms. Xing refused to “transform” or to sign the three statements. The guards ordered inmates to monitor her around the clock. She was deprived of sleep for three days. Ms. Xing was beaten whenever she shut her eyes. She was also tied to a stretching bed, with all four of her limbs stretched out and tied. Her husband divorced her while she was held at Baoding Forced Labor Camp.

Detained for the Fifth Time

On the afternoon of October 12, 2007, Ms. Xing left her home to go grocery shopping. She was arrested and taken to the Zhuozhou Police Department. Two other practitioners who were visiting her were also arrested. Officers from the Zhuozhou Police Department and the Taoyuan Police Station ransacked Ms. Xing's home and confiscated a 60,000 yuan bank card, a 60,000 yuan deposit book, and more than 10,000 yuan in cash. The officers also confiscated many Falun Gong books, three laptop computers, a printer, and several MP3 players. Her leather coat, articles of clothing, comforters, and an electric bike were also confiscated.

After being arrested, Ms. Xing was handcuffed in an office of the Police Department. She was able to remove the handcuffs and escape. She went back to her home, but was again arrested. This time she was handcuffed to an iron chair. First the Taoyuan Police Station officers interrogated her, and then the Domestic Security officers from both Zhuozhou and Baoding interrogated her. She was deprived of sleep for five days. When she became drowsy, the officers hit her with a broom. At the end of the interrogation, Ms. Xing was unable to think coherently and signed the interrogation record.

Force-Feeding

Ms. Xing was transferred from the Zhuozhou Police Department to the detention center. After over 50 days of detention, Zhuozhou Domestic Security officer Yang Yugang and Criminal Police Brigade chief Zhang Jianyou went to the detention center and asked Ms. Xing to sign her own arrest warrant. Ms. Xing refused. Chief Zhang said, “Your fate is in our hands. If you sign it, I'll get you released on bail pending trial.”

Ms. Xing went on a hunger strike for more than 70 days to protest her illegal detention and to demand her immediate release. Her weight dropped to under 80 pounds, so the doctor of the detention center force-fed her. They inserted a tube deeply into her throat and pulled it out suddenly. The tube was covered with blood and her nose was bleeding profusely. Ms. Xing was very weak at the time. She was unable to walk on her own and needed someone to carry her to the restroom. Ms. Xing vomited blood for a long period of time due to the extended hunger strike. Even so, the 610 Office and the police authorities refused to release her or to allow her family to visit.

Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

On December 20, 2007, the Zhuozhou City Procuratorate filed a case against Ms. Xing and two other practitioners. On March 27, 2008, the Zhuozhou City Court sentenced Ms. Xing to four years in prison. Ms. Xing and the two other practitioners were not allowed family visits, nor were they allowed to hire an attorney. On April 15, 2008, Ms. Xing was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.

Fed Toxic Drugs in Prison

On her first day in the Shijuazhuang Women's prison, the guards stripped off all of Ms. Xing's clothing and searched her. She was later taken to the 11th Ward. Li Hongzhen, head of the ward, ordered the guards to “transform” Ms. Xing, coerce her to renounce Falun Gong, and force her to sign the three statements. Ms. Xing refused, so the guards escalated their persecution. They took her to the interrogation room, tied her hands behind her back and to the chair she was sitting in. They then stuffed her mouth with underwear and shoe insoles, and taped her mouth shut. The guards then ordered inmates to beat and swear at her. They also fed her psychotropic drugs for a long period of time and treated her as if she were a psychiatric patient. As a result of this treatment, she is currently mentally unstable, her memory is impaired, she looks sluggish, has an unstable mind, and is constantly in fear.

Beatings, Hanging, and Stretching

One summer afternoon in 2010, Ms. Xing shouted “Falun Dafa is Good” while in prison. Inmates Cai Yehong, Gao Shuyan, and Li Yan tied both her hands to a window with her feet barely touching the ground. Ms. Xing hung there for more than five hours. The inmates then taped her mouth and head, slapped her in the face with their hands and their shoes, and kicked her. As a result, she was unable to walk normally for a long period of time.

Another time, the inmates stuffed Ms. Xing's mouth with shoe insoles and taped it shut. They tied her body to one bed and her hands to another bed, and then pulled both beds apart. This torture method is called the “stretching bed,” and it is extremely cruel.

With 130,000 Yuan Taken from Her, Ms. Xing Has No Means to Survive

Ms. Xing asked officer Yang Yugang about the 130,000 yuan the police had confiscated. Yang replied, “The bank card was turned in to the Procuratorate. I didn't see the deposit book; you can ask your family to go to the bank to report it lost. The 10,000 yuan in cash was confiscated.”

Ms. Xing was released on October 12, 2011. The roof of her house had collapsed, and she had to leave her home. She went to the bank and asked about the 60,000 yuan in her bank account. The teller told her that it was still there. She returned to the bank after some time, and she was told that all of her money had been withdrawn. Ms. Xing has been trying to get more information about this theft so that she may sue the responsible party.
