"The Truth Is Really Just That Simple"

"And for a cultivator, if you assimilate to this nature you’re someone who has attained the Dao. The truth is really just that simple." (Zhuan Falun) Zhen-Shan-Ren, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, is the characteristic of the universe. Then all that we encounter is fundamentally good. We have to have full understanding and complete righteous thoughts at all times. Our competency comes from this. Completely letting go of self. All thoughts coming from our hearts. All thoughts to save sentient beings.

I knew this implicitly for years. Because of notions and hardships, I couldn't understand that the truth is just this simple. I kept falling and going through hardship after hardship and looking outwards for help. If I can just stick to this fact—what I have said above—everything will be fine. Self-confidence is an external appearance. In fact, it is total faith in the Fa, as well as in Master, that can allow one to be so "self-confident" that one is able to completely let go of oneself, take everything with a smile, and only think of others.

Please correct my limited understanding.
