(Clearwisdom.net) Some people in Mainland China have never believed the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) lies and falsified evidence against Falun Gong. Many knew the facts from the very beginning: that Falun Gong benefits people and uplifts society in many, many ways. Some have broken free from the CCP’s lies after observing practitioners’ words and deeds and learning the truth about Falun Gong. Because of this, when the CCP continues to persecute Falun Gong, many people in every social class everywhere in China have stood up to bravely resist the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong. Many examples of this have been taken place throughout these past more than ten years.

Protecting Falun Gong Practitioners

In late 2003, a practitioner took a train to the Beijing Capital International Airport to pick up her daughter. She explained the truth about Falun Gong to passengers in the train. At that time, the CCP had already issued an order to the National Railways that whoever clarified the truth about Falun Gong on the train to Beijing should be immediately arrested and that conductors who reported practitioners to the police would be awarded 5,000 yuan. A conductor realized that she was a practitioner, but he didn’t report her. Instead, he secretly protected her in case the police came. After the train arrived in Beijing, the conductor advised the practitioner to take the same train back and told her how to get the return ticket. When the practitioner took the same train back with her daughter, she saw the conductor again. The conductor told them that he had asked her to return on the same train keep her safe.

In government agencies, private enterprises, and public institutions, many people are protecting Falun Gong practitioners. In April 2010, 610 Office agents, street officers, and local police all rushed to arrest Falun Gong practitioner Zhen Cheng (alias). The police tried to push him into a police car. Mr. Zhen refused to cooperate and sat on the ground, thus drawing the attention of bystanders to the persecution. He was then advised by two team leaders from his company to come back to his office. One of them negotiated with the 610 Office agents, "You can't take him away unless you take me with him. I will make a personal guarantee." The negotiations continued until 11 a.m. and Mr. Zhen was finally released.

A Party secretary iin a town in Nong'an County, Changchun City, Jilin Province, said to a practitioner, "I received a letter from a Falun Gong practitioner. It was really touching. I have read it a dozen times. There is no political agenda, and the practitioner really wants the best for other people. I will join you guys and cultivate with you." Then he added, "From now on, if I receive any orders from higher up, I will let you know so that you can hide your books."

There was a 60-year-old woman in Hubei Province. She had been deceived by the CCP’s lies before. After she learned the truth about the persecution, she protected practitioners although she didn’t practice Falun Gong. In October 2010, she heard that one of her distant relatives was illegally arrested because of her belief in Falun Gong. Because this relative lived so far away, she rarely contacted her. The woman knew she had to do something to help her, so she made the long trip to the relative’s local police station. She said to the police, “My relative fully recovered by practicing Falun Gong, but you arrested her and won't let her practice. If she dies due to her illnesses, won’t you have committed a crime? You should release her.” The woman argued with the officers for quite a long time. In the end, the officers agreed and let her relative go home with her.

Police and Officials Secretly Help Practitioners

The CCP slandered Falun Gong very severely in 2002. One day on a train, two young girls spoke out against Dafa practitioners' clarifying the truth during their conversation. A lady sitting across from them said pleasantly, "As a result of my occupation, I have had the chance to truly learn about Falun Gong practitioners' moral qualities. I am deeply moved by their personal integrity and character. They truly live by their belief in the principles of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. They endure hardships, they don't seek material comforts in life, and they bear the burden of their responsibilities. What's truly remarkable is their lack of complaint. This moves people to tears." She then told the two girls that she was a plainclothes policewoman.

A policeman stationed in a jail and a public security policeman met each other at the invitation of a mutual friend. The public security officer then asked the jail officer, "Have you detained many Falun Gong practitioners? The number I've sent to jail is not small!" The jail police officer blinked his eyes and bent down to whisper in the ear of the public security police officer and said, "Brother, they are truly a group of good people. I admire them. Today, we eat together and we are friends. Listen to me: you must treat Falun Gong practitioners kindly. When you get orders from your superiors, just work around them."

Numerous individuals in the communist system have found their own ways to protect Falun Gong practitioners. In early July 2004, the head of a township police station in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, received an order to arrest a practitioner. He said, "This practitioner is not at home; there is no one to arrest." Then he notified the practitioner, telling him, "Please be careful when you go out." He thus effectively protected the practitioner.

In May 2010, a local police officer told Mr. Tao Yuan (an alias) to quickly remove all his Falun Dafa materials from his home. Mr. Tao followed his advice and immediately moved all his Falun Gong materials. A group of people from the Municipal Public Security Bureau and police department arrived later and illegally raided his home. Of course, they found nothing and left dejectedly.

Officials who resist the persecution and help practitioners are actually found everywhere in the 610 Offices, police departments, and governments throughout the country. Some brave officials refuse to cooperate with the persecution either overtly or covertly; some try their best to resist the persecution; some provide suggestions to practitioners’ relatives on how to protect their lawful rights.

Practitioner Mr. Xu Dawei was persecuted to death in prison by the CCP. His wife wrote an open letter to Chinese government agencies and mentioned the attitudes of some the officials at higher levels she appealed to. She said, “Not everyone has sided with the authorities. Many government employees have learned about my situation and showed their sympathy. They offered me ideas and help.”

The head of one neighborhood committee once told a practitioner, "If everyone behaved like Falun Gong practitioners, our community would be better. You just keep doing the exercises and don't worry about it. But be careful so the police don't get anything on you." In 2004, the practitioner was arrested and put in a detention center. A few days later, the head of our neighborhood committee attended a local People's Congress meeting. When she saw the public security chief, she asked him about the practitioner. She said, "What kind of crime has this resident committed? If she hasn't commit any crime, please release her as soon as possible. If it creates difficulty for you, then we'll have our neighborhood committee jointly sign a petition! Will that work for you?" The practitioner was released two weeks later.

People with a Sense of Justice Stand Up to Resist the Persecution

Because they know Falun Gong practitioners are good people, many ordinary Chinese people with a sense of justice have stood up and openly said “No” to the CCP.

A local officer from Jianli County in Hubei Province tried to harass a practitioner. The officer went to a village official and ordered him to take him to the practitioner's home. The official, however, already knew the facts about Falun Gong and said to the officer, "The Falun Gong practitioners in our villages are all good people. They have done nothing wrong. If they've broken any laws, you can send me to jail." The officer didn't believe what he heard, so the official added, "You have nothing important to do, but I'm very busy. I have to work in the field and have no time to chat with you." Then he ignored the officer and walked away.

The Hongshan District 610 Office in Wuhan City established a brainwashing center in a rural area of Jiufeng in 2003. The government implemented a program in Wuhan City whereby if every practitioner was caught and sent to the brainwashing center, the center would be awarded 6,000 yuan by the government. On the evening of April 10, Huashan Town Police Station officers and the staff working for Huashan Town 610 Office in the Hongshan District set out in three vehicles to unlawfully arrest Ms. Li Jiulan in an effort to meet the brainwashing center's quota. Ms. Li was adamant in her refusal to cooperate with the police and 610 Office agents. Her husband, a non-practitioner, argued with the police and wouldn't allow them to take her away. Her child grabbed her leg and cried loudly during the argument. The noise alerted the villagers, who then came to yell at the police and the 610 Office agents. Several villagers pushed their way through the policemen and removed Ms. Li from the police car. The event lasted for about half an hour.

On the afternoon of August 8, 2004, six officers from the Xishui County Police Department's First Precinct stormed into the home of Mr. Yao Wanglai in Jiuping Village, Zhudian Township, Xishui County, intending to arrest him. Mr. Yao's family and his two younger brothers insisted that the police did not have the legal right to take Mr. Yao away. At that point, the police resorted to violence, and the sounds of a noisy scuffle shattered the peace of the entire village. The news traveled like lightning throughout the village. Soon, one villager after another came running from their fields and homes to Mr. Yao's house to explain to the police that Mr. Yao Wanglai was the best person in their village, that he was honest and kindhearted, that observed discipline and always obeyed the law. Even the head of the village government stood up to the police and vouched for Mr. Yao's character as a rare and good person. Not only did the police ignore all the testimonials, they became increasingly aggressive toward the villagers. By this time, about a hundred villagers had gathered at Mr. Yao's home. The huge crowd became highly agitated, loudly condemning the lawless violence of the six officers and shouting, "Don't allow them to take him away! Those who practice Falun Gong are all good people!" The strong righteous field and the villagers' insistence upon justice caused the police to leave Mr. Yao's home in a panic.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on September 17, 2006, the Hongdao Street Police Station in the Chengyang District of Qingdao City instructed Joint Defense personnel to break into the home of practitioner Mr. Zhao Yuqun in the Xidayang Village of the Hongdao Residential District to arrest him. The villagers, hearing calls for help, immediately came out and surrounded the officials. They used all their efforts to extricate Mr. Zhao Yuqun, who was able to escape. The officials then said that they would take Mr. Zhao's wife as a hostage because they saw that they could not arrest him. The villagers protested in unison, "If you dare to try to take away his wife and child, we will not allow you." The righteousness of the villagers effectively frightened the authorities, who had to quietly retreat when they saw that there was nothing else they could do.

People Sign Petitions to Rescue and Defend Falun Gong Practitioners

In the middle of March 2003, a practitioner in Jilin Province was arrested from home and sent to a forced labor camp. His son, who is also a practitioner, then explained the truth to his neighbors and villagers and collected signatures to rescue the practitioner. The son visited more than 1,000 families to clarify the truth and obtained 668 signatures to rescue his father. One villager said, "I signed because he is a Falun Gong practitioner."

In June 2009, practitioner Mr. Zheng Decai from Zhuanghe, Dalian City, was arrested by the local police. The following March, over 80 families in his village co-signed a petition to support the practitioner and to ask that the authorities release Mr. Zheng right away.

Another petition letter co-signed by people in Fushun City, Liaoning Province, in February 2009 even shocked CCP heads Zhou Yongkang and Luo Gan. At that time, practitioner Mr. Xu Dawei from Qingyuan County, Fushun, Liaoning Province, had just been released after an eight-year unlawful prison sentence. In prison, Mr. Xu was persecuted severely and suffered many cruel tortures. He was shackled, brutally beaten, hung up in the air, force-fed, beaten with a rubber hose, pierced with needles, electrically shocked, and suffered a mental collapse. His emaciated body was covered with bruises and injuries. His family took him to the hospital, but he passed away 13 days later at the age of 36. All the villagers in Qingyuan County were justifiably indignant about Mr. Xu’s death. They spontaneously organized two truckloads of people to go to the prison to ask for a just resolution, and 376 people from five villages co-signed the petition seeking justice and exposing the evil persecution in the prison.

Signatures of 376 villagers

Mr. Yuan Yulong from Zhongsheng Village, Shangjieji County, Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province; his son, Mr. Yuan Shoujiang; and his daughter-in-law. Ms. Gong Jinfen, were taken away by police on December 21, 2010, for practicing Falun Gong. Zhongsheng Village residents submitted a joint letter to which more than 95 percent of the residents signed their names and put their fingerprints. The letter vouches that the three members of Mr. Yuan's family are good people and didn't do anything illegal. They requested that the three be released.

Practitioners’ Relatives Resist the Persecution

The CCP persecution of Falun Gong has meant great tribulations for practitioners’ relatives. At the same time, however, they firmly resist the persecution because they absolutely understand the truth and have already discerned the CCP’s lies. While suffering the CCP persecution with practitioners, practitioners’ relatives use many methods to resist the persecution, which has greatly scared the evil and upheld justice.

For instance, between September 2005 and March 2006, a total of 1,061 practitioners’ relatives signed and submitted petitions to international human rights organizations, calling for attention to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Baimalong Forced Labor Camp. In August 2009, 56 people signed the letter “'We Are Charging the CCP with Persecuting Falun Gong' by Falun Gong Practitioners’ Relatives in Heilongjiang Province” and published it abroad. The letter was also submitted to many organizations, including the United Nations, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG), the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, China's National People's Congress, China's Supreme Court, China's Ministry of Public Security, China's Justice Department, and government agencies in Heilongjiang Province, calling for justice for Falun Gong.

Practitioner Ms. Wang Sanying from Shijiazhuang City was illegally tried on October 31, 2008. Although her lawyers pleaded not guilty and the public prosecutor didn’t demur, the authorities continued to detain her. Ms. Wang’s relatives and friends, nearly 40 of them, then signed and sent a petition to the Xinhua District Court of Shijiazhuang City, requesting that Ms. Wang be immediately released.

Another practitioner, Ms. Song Aichang from Shijiazhuang City, was sentenced to three years by the Shijiazhuang Intermediate Court. The two practitioners’ family members, along with their defense lawyers, 127 people in total, presented a signed letter to the Hebei Provincial High Court exposing the Shijiazhuang Intermediate Court's illegal actions and requesting that the appeal hearings be held in a different court.

On July 21, 2009, over 60 relatives and friends of practitioner Mr. Gu Huaibing from Pi County, Sichuan Province, wrote an open letter to rescue Mr. Gu. In the letter, his friends and relatives stated that “Mr. Gu Huaibing was totally wronged. He was charged with ‘Notification of Detention’ and accused of ‘using an evil cult to undermine law enforcement.’ However, according to the attorneys, such a charge against Mr. Gu Huaibing is erroneous. The attorneys clarified that under the current Chinese laws, there is not a single article that defines Falun Gong as a cult. Falun Gong practitioners' behavior poses no harm to society, nor do they undermine law enforcement...”

More and More People from the Legal Profession Are Standing Up to Appeal for Falun Gong

At the end of 2004, the well-known attorney Mr. Gao Zhisheng wrote an open letter to Chairman Wu Bangguo of the Chinese People's Congress. Later, he wrote two more open letters to the highest ranking CCP officials, strongly appealing for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.

In May 2006, the CCP Justice Department sent orders to authorities at different levels, circulating information that “There have been 400 attorneys appealing for Falun Gong openly throughout the country.” Although the notice was meant to frighten the attorneys, it also shows that people from the legal profession in China have the power to resist the CCP’s harsh persecution.

During the trial for practitioner Ms. Wang Bo on April 27, 2007, six lawyers from Beijing, including Li Heping, Teng Biao, Li Xiongbing, Zhang Lihui, Li Shunzhang, and Wu Hongwei broke, through the CCP’s harassment and pleaded not guilty for Ms. Wang. They pointed out that from the standpoint of the law, there was no legal ground at all to persecute Falun Gong. The persecution violated the Constitution and the law. All Falun Gong practitioners' trials and sentences were unlawful. Every organization and person participating in arresting and detaining Falun Gong practitioners were committing crimes.

Nowadays, more and more righteous attorneys have stood up to appeal for Falun Gong practitioners. The CCP persecution has been increasingly exposed and the details are truly horrific.

Epilogue

After the persecution began in 1999, the villagers in a mountainous area in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, didn’t believe the CCP’s lies at all. Before the persecution began, the head of the village had the area used as a Falun Gong practice site nicely covered in concrete. He told practitioners, “As soon as Falun Gong practice is allowed, this will be the village's central practice area.”

I hope the serene and peaceful scene of Falun Gong practitioners doing the group exercises will return to Mainland China, which is the wish of every righteous person. No matter how the CCP lies to people, uses torture and harassment to intimidate them and tries to obscure the facts, the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong is known and is bein widely circulated. As more people increasingly learn the truth, more and more people's consciences will be moved, and they will display morality and bravery, they will righteously protect Falun Gong and resist the CCP persecution.
