(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhao Lingqin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Xiaqicheng Village, Baishan Town, Boai County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, obtained the Fa in 1999. Before that, she didn't get along with her mother-in-law. Now Ms. Zhao follows Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and has become a good person. She always thinks of others and she is increasingly treating her mother-in-law better.

After the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong, Ms. Zhao went out to distribute Falun Dafa materials in October 1999. She was framed by a resident, Zhu Junli, from Xiaqicheng Village and was arrested by officers Yan Liang, Du Tao, Ma Wu, Shengli, etc. from Baishan County Police Station. In the police station, Ms. Zhao was tortured by Yan Liang and was detained in the Boai County Detention Center for a month. She was released and sent home after having 300 yuan extorted from her.

On October 13, 2000, Ms. Zhao went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong and was detained in the Beijing Shijingshan Detention Center for seven days. She was then transferred to the National Security Division in Yongqing City, Hebei Province. A policeman hit her leg with a meter-long wooden stick over 100 times and she fainted. On October 27, her family had 200 yuan extorted from them by officers from Yongqing County Police Station. She was then released. On October 29, Boai County Police Station officers arrested Ms. Zhao from her home and detained her in the Boai County Detention Center for over a month. She was then transferred to the county detention center for over five months and then detained in the Zhengzhou Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp for two years.

A female instructor, Zhang, aged 40, forced Ms. Zhao to take drugs used to treat epilepsy. The day after she took the drugs, Ms. Zhao didn't even know how to button or put on her pants. She couldn't take care of herself. In December 2001, she was released and allowed to go home from the Zhengzhou Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp. At the time of her release, instructor Zhang threatened Ms. Zhao not to tell anyone about the drugs she'd been forced to take.

Ms. Zhao was the mainstay of her family. She needed to earn money to feed her 80-year-old mother-in-law, her sick husband, and her three teenage children. After Ms. Zhao's detention, her family lost their main source of income and their lives were very difficult. Her elderly mother-in-law had to take to take care of her sick son and her grandchildren. The added responsibility coupled with Ms. Zhao's detention proved very traumatic for the elderly lady and she became very sick and died on February 6, 2002 . Her family wanted Ms. Zhao to return home to attend her mother-in-law's funeral, but Zhang Guosheng, secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee of Boai County, demanded a sum of 3000 yuan from them to allow Ms. Zhao to attend the funeral for only 10 minutes. The family couldn't afford it, so Ms. Zhao was not able to attend her mother-in-law's funeral.

In February 2003, Ms. Zhao was framed and arrested by Li Yinghao, an officer from Boai County Police Station, while she was distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials. Ms. Zhao was released the same night because of her powerful righteous thoughts. Unable to bear the threats and the resulting fear, her husband, who was extremely sick, passed away five days later. Seven days after her husband died, Li Ziyou, a policeman from the Boai County Police Station, arrested Ms. Zhao. Li attempted to force Ms. Zhao to sign the detention document, which she refused to do. This made Li very angry and he said, “We can still detain you whether you sign it or not.” In the end, Li signed on behalf of Ms. Zhao, and she was detained in the county detention center.

The relentless persecution caused Ms. Zhao to develop a cough and fever after three months. She was diagnosed in the hospital and ordered to go home for treatment. In May 2005, she was released. On January 6, 2006, a staff member of the Boai County Court deceived her into coming to the courthouse to answer a question. She was arrested and taken to the county detention center as soon as she arrived at the courthouse. After 14 days in detention, Ms. Zhao was taken to the Xinxiang Women's Prison for a three-year term. She has now been released.
