(Clearwisdom.net) There was a fellow practitioner who had returned home after being persecuted. He was not mentally stable as a result of the mistreatment he endured. He would not eat, drink or dress himself. His family members could not provide good care for him and he finally passed away. I felt really bad after hearing this story.
Practitioners have been persecuted for over 12 years. During this last phase of the Fa-rectification, saving sentient beings is an urgent requirement. Yet, the old forces are preventing some practitioners from doing this task by removing them from this world. Such an action causes a great loss and is not what Teacher wants. I think all of us should look inward to see what we have done wrong to cause such things to happen. Teacher said, “The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things” (“Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference 2002”). Do we view the problems of practitioners that have been persecuted as our own?
A practitioner in our area who is in her 50s was illegally arrested in December 2010. She was beaten, shocked with electric batons and hung up in a small dark room. At times she was not allowed to eat or drink and was forced to do hard labor. She was also made to sit in a pile of snow. If she tried to stand up, she was pushed back down again.
When released, she was left mentally unstable as a result of the mistreatment she had endured. She could not recognize her family members and did not want to return home with them. A few days later, she refused to eat, drink or get dressed. She became incontinent, dehydrated and her skin turned black. Fellow practitioners were concerned for her, and sent forth righteous thoughts.
A practitioner said, “This is just another trick used by the old forces to persecute practitioners. We must reject it.” Teacher said:
“You have to rescue your fellow cultivators and Dafa disciples--we can’t let the evil persecute them wildly and without restraint.” (“Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference”)
Teacher also said:
“As for the interference by evil in other dimensions, we must seriously eradicate it with righteous thoughts.” (“Fa-Rectification and Cultivation” in Essentials for Further Advancement II)
We immediately took turns to send forth righteous thoughts and tried to help this practitioner as best we could. Although she was making it difficult for us to help her, we were persistent. Practitioners experienced many trials of endurance during this time, and were able to remove many human notions. However, after a period of time, we did not see any progress. We were somewhat baffled, but decided to find more practitioners to join us and continue our efforts. We asked for Teacher's help to disintegrate the old force elements trying to take this practitioner from us, and insisted that she must return to her normal self. The practitioner's family member maintained strong righteous thoughts and continued to look after her.
Practitioners coming over to help were quite selfless. Some had to spend money on travel expenses to get to the practitioner's house everyday. They kept talking to the practitioner, trying to help her understand things. One of her sons from overseas also called her. Eventually, she came to her senses. With Teacher's care and fellow practitioners' strong righteous thoughts, she soon recovered and returned to validate the Fa and save sentient beings.
This practitioner told us that before she came to her senses, she saw many terrifying scenes created by the old forces that were occupying her dimensional field. When we tried to feed her with healthy food, what she saw was that we were trying to feed her heads of snakes or snake meat. Outside the window she saw an ocean and her son's plane was crashing into it. She saw many and other horrific illusions. She was constantly full of fear. Now, all these illusions are gone and she is calm and relaxed.
From this incident we realized that the old forces use a variety of means to interfere with practitioners. Thus, when such a situation occurs, family members and fellow practitioners must work together fully. We must use the wisdom from Dafa and our righteous thoughts to eliminate the old forces. Had we not done so, the old forces could quite easily have taken this practitioner from us.
We have come down to this world for the purpose of assisting Teacher in Fa-rectification and saving sentient beings. We can't listen to the old forces or let them control us. We must study the Fa well, look inward and cultivate to be a life that cares for others. Let us not fail Teacher's kind offer of salvation.
I would like to ask fellow practitioners to remember the words Teacher said at “Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Switzerland, 1998:”
"I’ve given my utmost concern not just to you, but to all lives. I have almost depleted everything of mine for all lives.”
