(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Ni Zhenxuan, 66 years old, from Shijiazhuang City, was illegally sentenced to three and a half years imprisonment in June 2011. His family decided to file a lawsuit against the responsible persons in the Chang'an District Court for making an illegal judgment, and demanded Mr. Ni's immediate and unconditional release.

On the afternoon of March 4, 2011, Mr. Ni Zhenxuan was working at his sofa factory when officers from the Nanyang Police Station came to arrest him. The police scaled the fence and entered his factory. Without presenting any documentation, they took his printers and other property. Mr. Ni has been held in the Shijiazhuang City No. 2 Detention Center for more than seven months. The detention center officials have denied his family's right to visit him.
The Chang’an Court of Shijiazhuang City held a trial on June 21. The attorney pled not guilty for Mr. Ni, but the court officials still sentenced him to three and a half years of imprisonment. Mr. Ni's family appealed to the Shijiazhuang City Intermediate Court with three requests: investigate the related persons (judges involved in handling Mr. Ni's case) for their liabilities; follow the law and unconditionally release Mr. Ni; and compensate Mr. Ni and his family for all financial losses and pay damages for mental strife.
On the morning of June 20, a Beijing lawyer went to the Chang'an District Court for the file on Mr. Ni's case. Judge Tian Yi asked the lawyer if he had received notification from the Shijiazhuang City Political and Judiciary Committee (the committee forbids local lawyers to defend Falun Gong practitioners). The lawyer said that he was from Beijing, where there is no such type of notice. Mr. Ni has now appealed his case to the Intermediate Court. The Chang'an District Court has submitted the files on his case to the Shijiazhuang City Intermediate Court, but officials there refuse to meet with Mr. Ni's family, nor have they informed the family of any result.
Mr. Ni Zhenxuan benefited greatly both physically and mentally from practicing Falun Gong. His bad temper disappeared and he became patient and tolerant and was in good spirits. Mr. Ni and his wife take turns caring for his 89-year-old mother and a disabled uncle who suffers from a number of illnesses.
