Illegally Sentenced Practitioner Chen Hongli Shouts "Falun Dafa Is Good"
(Clearwisdom. net) A public sentencing rally was held on the morning of January 13, 2011, at Lixiang Square in the city center of Qianxi County, Tangshan, Hebei Province. People from every department were scheduled to attend, and there were many on-site spectators. Some people from the Jinxi Iron and Steel Group were sent to the rally to form an audience.
Police escorted over a dozen people to the rally, including thieves, robbers, murderers, and rapists. They deliberately included Falun Gong practitioner Chen Hongli among them. When the director read the verdict, he announced only the jail term of Mr. Chen, but not the reason for sentencing. When two police officers attempted to handcuff Chen Hongli, he shouted "Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!" It was loud and clear and his voice shook the people around him.
After people found out the reason that Chen Hongli was sentenced, they moved forward. Some started clapping for him, and some people who were standing far away came closer. Some said, “Only good people shout. Why would a a thief dare to shout?” One of the police officers panicked and repeatedly said, “Quick, quick, put her in the car.”
The voice of the person who read the verdicts became shaky. They were supposed to announce verdicts for two more people, but they stopped right after Chen.
Ms. Chen Hongli is a resident at the fifth village of Xingcheng Town, Qianxi County, Tangshan City. At 7:00 p.m. on May 3, 2010, ten police officers broke into her home and arrested her. They confiscated a computer, a printer, and satellite TV receivers. Chen Hongli was beaten by a police officer named Fu while she was detained at the Qianxi Detention Center. The policemen who participated in Chen Hongli's arrest included Liu Jinying, Zhao Guoqi, Xu Zhigang and Wang Wei from the National Security Team, and about five officers from the Criminal Investigation Brigade. This is the sixth time that Chen Hongli has been arrested by police since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong.
