(Clearwisdom.net) I experienced many hardships during the years of famine caused by the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Thus, I became stingy and watched every penny I spent. I was worried too much about trivial things and did not sleep well. So my wife criticized me, saying that I didn't act like a man. Under the cruel persecution of Falun Gong by the evil CCP, my wife was fired from her job in the public sector and my son was expelled from high school. I was prohibited from working but was given a small amount of money during the month to monitor my wife and son at home. The authorities tried to coerce me to divorce my wife. I have endured, mentally and physically, tremendous attacks and pressure because of her refusal to renounce her belief. In these circumstances, why do I still support my wife in practicing Falun Gong?
1. My Wife Became More Kindhearted
I had many personality problems, including a short temper. I went to extremes in looking after my mother and sister, which caused many conflicts between my wife and family. The conflicts grew worse, and my wife blamed me for it and looked down on me. She often found fault with me in public. Even worse, we were on the verge of getting a divorce. However, this complicated situation completely changed after she began practicing Falun Gong in 1995. She no longer felt resentment as she followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in handling matters. Our family became more harmonious. I sincerely appreciate Falun Gong for changing her into a kind person.
2. Falun Gong Healed My Wife's Diseases
After childbirth, my wife developed serious lower back pain, neck pain, and numbness. I had to massage her every night, or else she could not sleep at all. The pain that had tortured her for 13 years vanished within one week after she started practicing Falun Gong. Her other gynecological and gastrointestinal diseases also disappeared. I personally witnessed this miraculous healing power of Dafa. I came to firmly believe that Falun Dafa is good.
3. Practicing Falun Dafa Led My Wife to Become a Better Daughter-in-Law
Being a pious son, I listened to my parents wholeheartedly. I was not skillful in resolving the conflicts that occurred between being an obedient son to my parents and a being husband to my wife. When she began practicing Falun Gong, my wife followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and cultivated herself toward kindness. Thankfully, her resentment toward my parents no longer existed.
My mother had moved in to live with us for a period of time before she passed away. She had advanced lung cancer. My wife took good care of her day and night, always making sure that her favorite food was in the refrigerator. My mother often praised her with gratitude, saying that her daughter-in-law took better care of her than what her own daughter would have. She commented that Falun Gong really taught people well. I felt warm in my heart each time I heard that.
What moved me was how my wife treated my father. My father was permanently confined to bed after he fell in an accident. She and my sister took it upon themselves to insert and remove his urinary catheter as necessary. I was especially moved that a daughter-in-law would be willing to provide this personal care. My wife also looked after my younger sister, who is unmarried. After my parents passed away, she helped my sister daily and also gave her tremendous moral support. When my sister saw or heard slander against Falun Gong on TV, she always stood up and said, "Falun Dafa is good."
4. Falun Gong Saved Me from Calamity
I was involved in a traffic accident on the Jingcheng highway in 2003. The car was totaled, but I only sustained several fractures. The traffic police were surprised that I had not been not killed in such a serious accident. Everyone I knew was very surprised that I only spent one month in a hospital and miraculously recovered very fast. I knew in my heart that I had benefited from my wife's practice of Falun Gong. I often heard practitioners saying, "When one person cultivates Falun Gong, the whole family benefits."
When I was recuperating in bed after the accident, my wife took care of me meticulously. I was not a considerate person, especially to my wife and children. I felt ashamed about that. She always encouraged me when I felt sad in bed and often advised me to read the Falun Gong books. Under her inspiration, I finally read Zhuan Falun and realized from it the profound meaning of Falun Gong. No wonder my wife firmly believes in Falun Dafa!
5. Falun Gong Rectified Our Marriage
Given the deteriorating moral standards of humankind today, people do not think it is shameful that a man has an extra-marital affair. Instead, they are proud of it. Unlike other women, my wife was very calm when she found out I had a mistress. After practicing Falun Gong, she used kindness to resolve any issues. She explained to me the meaning of marriage and that it was a sin to commit adultery. For my own good and the good of the third party, she advised me to quickly dissolve this irregular relationship. I was deeply touched and admired her true compassion and great forbearance.
My wife has rectified many of my wrong deeds and bad habits in her ten-plus years of cultivation. Falun Gong has brought boundless blessings to my whole family. I truly hope everyone in the whole world will read Zhuan Falun. It is a great book.
The above mentioned are some of the reasons that I have supported my wife in practicing Falun Gong. I would like to tell the whole world about the goodness of Falun Gong. I have been impressed by the many good deeds my wife has done during her cultivation.
