(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 25 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 25 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Zhimei and Practitioners Caring for Her Arrested
Ms. Liu Zhimei, a student from Qinghua University, was arrested by officers from Laiyang City at approximately 9:00 a.m. on April 16, 2010. Three practitioners who were taking care of her were also arrested. Ms. Liu had been severely persecuted, developed a mental disorder, and could not care for herself. She was very weak and became disturbed if she was frightened.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wu Libo Sentenced to Forced Labor
Mr. Wu Libo was arrested by officers from the Second Railway Department on March 20, 2010. He was sentenced to one year of forced labor and taken to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lei Xiaoting Held for Unlimited Term
Ms. Lei Xiaoting was arrested on March 19, 2009, by officers from Guilin Road Station. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Using the excuse that she was not "transformed" and "circulated scriptures," the police extended her term one month. On April 15, 2009, when her parents went to visit, they were told that her term had been extended for another month.
4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Jie Tortured at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and Her Daughter Denied Visitation
Ms. Yu Jie from Dalian City was arrested on January 6, 2010. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor and taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Three months have passed since the end of her term and she has still not been released. Her family went to the camp to visit many times but were turned away. One day in late March 2010, Ms. Yu's daughter journeyed all the way from Dalian City to the labor camp. Guards told the daughter that because Ms. Yu's had a bad attitude and had not been "transformed," she would not be allowed to visit her mother.
5. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Shuchen's Term Extended and His Family Has No Means of Support
The prison term of Mr. Sun Shuchen from Chaoyang Township, Xiuyan County, Anshan City, was extended by three months. His parents, both in their 70s, cannot take care of themselves. Mr. Sun's father is very ill and at home without proper care.
6. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cao Shuxian and Ms. Li Yanfen Sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Cao Shuxian and Ms. Li Yanfen from Dongxinzhuang, Xingcheng City, were taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on April 13, 2010. Ms. Cao was sentenced to two years, and Ms. Li to one year.

7. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Lianhui Sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
In November 2009, Ms. Yu Lianhui was taken from the Yaojia Detention Center, Dalian City, to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City. She was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor.

9. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Guilan Sent to Dabei Prison, Shenyang City
Ms. Wang Guilan, Mr. Jin Baochun, and Mr. Huang Beidong, all from the Wanghua District in Fushun City, were taken from the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City to Dabei Prison in Shenyang City.

On March 30, 2010, Ms. Jiang Yuping was arrested by officers from the No. 12 Road Station while she was traveling with her husband to 6 Weigong Road in the Tiexi District. She was taken to the Shenyang City Detention Center and held for two days. She was transferred to the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center, held for five days, and abused. She left the brainwashing center on March 19, 2010.
12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jinfeng's Original Verdict Upheld
Ms. Wang Jinfeng was tried a second time in the Shenyang City Middle Court. The original verdict was upheld in the Kangping County Court.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Jing Tortured at Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Liu Jing was reported while distributing truth clarifying materials. Officers followed her home and she was arrested. All of the Falun Dafa materials in the home were confiscated. Ms. Liu was held at the Haidian District Police Station for the month of January 2010. She is now being held at the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp.
14. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shuchun and Three Practitioners Sentenced
Ms. Zhang Shuchun, Ms. Wang Haohong, Ms. Li Yongjie, and Mr. Peng Lekuan, all of Zhaoyuan City, were arrested in May 2009 by agents from the Zhaoyuan City 610 Office. They were held at the Zhaoyuan City Detention Center for almost a year. They were recently tried in the Zhaoyuan City Court.
Ms. Zhang Shuchun, Ms. Wang Haohong, and Ms. Li Yongjie went on a hunger strike for over ten days, during which time they became weak. In fragile condition, Ms. Zhang and three other practitioners were taken to the Shandong Province Prison on April 11, 2010, by agents from the Zhaoyuan City 610 Office and the court. Their families were not notified. Ms. Zhang Shuchun was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. Ms. Li Yongjie and Mr. Peng Lekuan were sentenced to five years.

15. [Shanghai] Ms. Yang Liang Arrested
Ms. Yang Liang from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, who works in Shanghai, was arrested. Officers from the community and her landlord said they were checking the residence while she was at home in Shanghai. Her boyfriend, Mr. Pang Kai, who is not a practitioner, was also arrested when he returned home at around 7: 00 that night. Ms. Zhang Yuroong, from Jinzhou City, was also arrested at 1:00 a.m. on April 15, 2010, at her home Shanghai.

16. [Qian'an City, Hebei Province] Mr. Xu Yude and His Wife Arrested
Mr. Xu Yude, retired from the Qian'an City Post Office, and his wife, both in their 60s, were arrested on the morning of April 16, 2010.
17. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] More Than 30 Practitioners Arrested
On the afternoon of April 13, 2010, practitioners from Santa Town, Taihe County, were reported while studying the teachings of Falun Dafa together. That same day, officers from the Santa Town Police Station, Taihe County, led by Yang Bingfeng, group leader of the Taihe County Security Division, arrested Ms. Jiang Hui, Ms. Ming Xiulan, Ms. Liang Suqin, Ms. Liang Huifang, Ms. Sun Suyang, Mr. Yang Chang'an, Ms. Liang Shijuan, Ms. Wei Xiuying, Ms. Yuan Jixia, and others. At time of the arrests, the police also confiscated merchandise and cash from the grocery store owned by Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Liu Qingrong, from Zhangjianiuwang Village, Gaoqiao Town, Yishui County, was arrested when she was clarifying the truth on April 6, 2010. Her home was also ransacked. Ms. Liu's husband, Mr, Zhang Guohua, returned home from a labor camp on April 9, 2010, three days after Ms. Liu was arrested. She is detained at the Linyi Detention Center.

23. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Sheng Arrested
On the morning of April 16, 2010, near the Hongshang Gym in the Wuchang District, a few officers entered Mr. Wang Sheng's store and arrested him. They also took a car and a computer.
24. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Song Dongxiang's Residence Ransacked
Approximately six officers from the Xinxing Department in Qitaihe City entered Ms. Song Dongxiang's home at 4:30 p.m. on March 3, 2010. They acted in a deceitful manner by telling the couple they had come to fix an electric circuit and coerced Ms. Song's husband into letting them go upstairs. The officers later presented a document that was purported to be search warrant. The home was ransacked. The police searched in quilts, under the beds, in shoe boxes, in dressers, and in the kitchen. After finding nothing, they attempted to force Ms. Song to go with them. She did not cooperate and the officers left.

25. [Baoji City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Lian Yanling Escaped and Her Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Lian Yanlin, from Baoji City was arrested by officers from the Jiangtan Road Stations on March 25, 2010. During the night, she was taken to the Lingyun Hotel, Baoji City, where she was tortured and then taken elsewhere. Her whereabouts is unknown. She has a child in the second grade, her husband has eye problems, and in 2005 her father was diagnosed with middle to late-stage kidney cancer. There is no one to care for her family.
