Western Non-Practitioner: World Falun Dafa Day - A View from the Inside

Dear Mother,

How are you doing? I'm good. I'm exhausted. I was racking my brain thinking about what to say. I was going to address the President, but changed my mind. I thought that speaking to practitioners would be better. Something from the heart, you know.

I'm up early trying to get this out, and hopefully it will reach you in time [for Falun Dafa Day]. Thank you for allowing me to voice myself among practitioners on this special occasion.

Falun Dafa Is Great!

First and foremost I would like to say "Rest in Peace" to the fallen Falun Dafa practitioners. Even though I'm not a practitioner, I am the son of a practitioner. I have read Zhuan Falun, the "good book" as I call it. Yes, I am currently incarcerated. However, as Master Li once said in Zhuan Falun,

"We have said that no matter how much human moral values have changed, this characteristic of the universe, Zhen-Shan-Ren, will forever remain unchanged. If someone says that you are good, you may not really be good. If someone says that you are bad, you may not really be bad. This is because the criteria that evaluate good and bad are distorted."

So even though this may seem like a bad situation, it's not. I have matured into a man with the help of family and the "good book". Zhuan Falun has opened my eyes to a whole new meaning of life. The mind is a delicate and precious tool, and the mind controls everything. It can let us know that what we are doing is wrong. Yes, that's true. However. we don't think about the consequences until they are right before our faces.

You see, our mind lets us know when we do wrongful things and it also lets us know what the results will be. But we often hide that in the far recesses of our minds. I used to be a person who used only half of my brain. Once I read Zhuan Falun, however, it seemed as if it sparked the other half. What I mean is that it enlightened me to new things. It enlightened me to become a better person. It stopped me from being so dirty inside, and it enlightened me to love myself. I stopped blaming others for my problems. I'm now able to have a loving and caring relationship with my mother. I've seen my mother blossom right in front of me. She has found Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and I'm grateful for her new-found wealth.

In conclusion, I want to thank each and every practitioner, because, despite the persecution, you all stand up for what you believe in. I want to wish you all Happy Falun Dafa Day.
