Western Practitioner: Master Li's Great Benevolence Helped Me to Understand "Each Person Must Choose His Future"

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a fairly new practitioner. Around Christmas 2008, I received from my son the book Zhuan Falun. I started reading the book right away, and in the first few pages, to my amazement, I saw and sensed the immense mercy and compassion of Master Li. I didn't understand everything however, and I had no idea what cultivation was all about, and wondered, what does it all mean? It subsequently became clear to me that Master Li is offering salvation to everyone, to all sentient beings, through the teachings contained in this precious book, and that there is indeed such a thing called salvation. Before reading Zhuan Falun, I didn't believe in salvation.

A few months later I started practicing the exercises, which benefited me greatly, as my health wasn't good at the time. I also began reading and studying Master Li's lectures given at various conferences.

At this point in my life, I feel the need to share my understanding with fellow practitioners.

I recently became aware of and puzzled about the teachings given by Master Li regarding the choice people will have to make when it comes to the Communist Party. I understand that not only the Chinese people, but people all over the world, will have to make that choice.

In the article "Turning the Wheel Towards the Human World" (February 15, 2005), Master Li said:

"Now, however, not only has the Party committed acts of evil, but its sins are unforgivable and its nature is no longer the same. And that naturally imperils CCP members. If a person doesn't withdraw from it, he is a part of it, one of its particles, and a part of its composition, and he will become a target for elimination by all gods. When that chapter of mankind's history starts, there will be no more chances for human beings. Through clarifying the truth, Dafa disciples have given plenty of chances to human beings. In today's historic time, human beings must choose a path for the future of their existence. Whether someone listens [to us] or not is a way in which he chooses his future."

In lecturing and answering student's questions in "Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Conference" (February 26, 2005), Master Li explains:

"Question: Some Western students think that the tone of the Nine Commentaries makes them hard for Western society to accept. What should we be mindful of when we introduce the Nine Commentaries to Western society?

Teacher: It's not like that. Doing it the way you have been is just fine. Don't emphasize those things. There are differences between the Eastern and Western ways of thinking, sure. But there are divine factors behind the Nine Commentaries, and they will have a positive impact on people, Asians and Westerners alike. In some people's cases, factors left by the old forces are preventing the person from getting involved in Dafa for the time being - they might be restraining him. It depends on the specific situation. Many Westerners haven't been harmed by the poison of the malevolent Party, and in those instances the person might come across as a bit indifferent. That's not a problem. As for the Nine Commentaries, at this time they are an important step in saving humankind. Perhaps, during the next stage, every single person on this earth will soon have to give his stance on whether he wants that evil Party around or not. Each person must choose his future. In countries that aren't ruled by the malevolent Party, Communist things are still, in reality, being practiced. Didn't a prophecy say that **** would rule the world?

Some people have said that the Nine Commentaries are too long and have asked whether they could be made more concise. The answer is no. During the last hundred or so years, the gangster-like Communist clique has been constantly at war with the free world, but nobody has been able to spell out what this malevolent Party really is. The Republic of China [Taiwan] has fought with the CCP for decades, and articles about the CCP have been written one after another. But they too haven't managed to really spell out what the malevolent Party is. We have managed to completely explain it, which is a first. How could it be made more concise? Should it be turned into a short, toothless article like what's been done before? Could such a piece take on the enormous responsibility [this one must] and fulfill the duty history has bestowed upon it? The goal of our fully explaining that malevolent Party is to expose its malevolent nature and help people to see it for what it is, thus saving the world's people. It is also done to help the world's people understand why it has persecuted Dafa disciples so wildly. We aren't "playing politics." And this isn't something politics could handle. In my heart is a great wish to save sentient beings. We needn't promise anything to the beings who have crooked thoughts. History will prove everything. I have given that malevolent Party many chances, and when its evilness peaked I warned it time and time again, saying, "I, Li Hongzhi, know and can explain everything." But the evil has gotten so wild that is has lost all reason. Even today it is still senselessly persecuting Dafa disciples. Let's see what is in store for it."

I was born and lived under the oppression of a Communist regime and dictatorship in Romania in Eastern Europe. Years ago I escaped with my family, and we were granted asylum and permanent residence in the United States.

No one can better understand the suffering of the Chinese Dafa disciples, and Chinese people, than someone who lived himself or herself under the oppression and terror of a Communist regime. Living in the United States for many years, I did adjust to the way of life in a free country and pushed aside the bad memories. Also, until recently, all those years I thought and I had this wrong notion that everyone in the Western world, or in any free country around the world for that matter, is opposing and rejecting the Communist System. Just because I and my family (especially my mother, from whom we have learned what the communists are all about, and their deeds, which she is fiercely against) always opposed the Communist Party and regime, that doesn't mean everyone in the world shares that same view. It never crossed my mind that many people in the Western world might think there isn't anything wrong with a Communist system.

There was an article in the EU Observer Headlines News on April 14, 2010, entitled, "EU 'naive' about power of ex-Communist spies, says Nobel prize-winner." Herta Mueller is a Romanian-born German who lived under the dictatorship of Ceausescu in Romania, "...under constant fear and intimidation by Romania's secret police, the Securitate, Deportation and labor camps in the Soviet Union, as experienced by her own parents." All these "...are depicted in the latest novel, Atemschaukel (in English: Everything I Possess I Carry With Me), for which she won the Nobel prize last year.

Reading this article brought back my own sad memories. A very good example of how dangerous and crafty communists are was Ceausescu himself, the communist and dictator that ruled Romania until December 22, 1989. I came to learn that Ceausescu had been able to deceive the Western world into believing that socialist/communist Romania was a democratic country, that he loved democracy and western culture, and that his people were free to criticize the government, etc. As a consequence, Ceausescu was received with many honors in the U.S. at the White House, in Great Britain by Queen Elizabeth, in France, and other countries. The truth about Ceausescu, and of how his people were oppressed, terrorized, and literally starved to death, came out after one of his highest-ranking intelligence officials, a two-star Romanian Securitate General, Ion Mihai Pacepa, defected to the United States and obtained political asylum. In 1989, on Christmas Day, Ceausescu and his wife were overthrown by the masses of angry people, tried, and executed for genocide.

I realize today and understand that many people in the free world don't seem to find anything wrong with a communist regime. Some don't even take it seriously or don't believe that the communist Chinese government is oppressing, torturing and killing Falun Gong practitioners by the thousands. Chinese agents are sent overseas and are spreading many lies, deceiving people of the world about the true situation of the Falun Gong. They are using various tricks and dirty tactics, as the former Romanian Securitate and Russian KGB are doing, to reach their goal of imposing communism on the world.

Master Li made some remarks to that effect in the teaching, "In Reference to a Prophecy" (June 28, 2000), "Essentials for Further Advancement II," as follows:

"As to the sentence "before and after Mars reigns," it means to say that [Karl] Marx is ruling the world before and after the year 1999. Actually, not only those societies ruled by the vile communist party are now practicing Marxism. The social welfare system and its kin adopted by the developed countries of the world are also wicked communist things within capitalism. Those appear to be free societies, yet it seems that the whole world is in fact practicing communism. People who come to the developed countries in the West from countries ruled by the evil communists share one impression: "It feels like communism here, except they don't advocate violent revolution."

With regard to the last part, "in the name of bringing people happiness," this refers to the vile communist party's idea of liberating all of humankind, as well as to Western society's sustaining social welfare through heavy taxation."

In "Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005 (Lecture and Q&A)" (November 5, 2005), Master Li answered a student's question, as follows:

"Question: The beings and humans that haven't yet awakened will be weeded out. Will they have opportunities in the future to be saved?"

Teacher: The beings that have not yet awakened still have time to do so right now, don't they? As for the future, we haven't set anything in stone. Dafa disciples should just go ahead and do Dafa disciples' things. If the beings that truly can't be saved are weeded out, well, that's not something to form an attachment about and that's what the Fa-rectification requires. When the enormous force of Fa-rectification comes, there won't be much fuss over this or that. It will be like things being wiped out, and it will be finished in an instant."

By sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth to people in China, to the Western world, and to former Communist countries, Dafa disciples' compassion can save many sentient beings.

Here is a poem Master Li wrote and gave it to us:

"For The Good of the World

Make clear the truth,
and drive off foul spirits.
Spread widely the Nine Commentaries,
and the wicked Party shall fade.
With righteous thoughts,
save the world's people.
I just don't believe their consciences
are irretrievably lost.

Master Li's benevolence and guidance helped me to enlighten and understand why every person has to choose between the Party and their future. I'll do everything possible to clarify the truth and help people choose their future.
