(Clearwisdom.net) I am a 20-year-old university student, and I began practicing Falun Dafa in 2008. This year, my winter break is longer than usual, lasting about six weeks. From Teacher's lectures, I understand that every extra day that the world continues is for Fa-rectification. I believe that this is a critical point in time for validating Dafa and saving the sentient beings. As a particle of Dafa, I must do the three things well to fulfill my prehistoric vows.
Every day, I study the Fa in the morning before sending forth righteous thoughts. Afterwards, I study more, and I then go out to talk to people about Dafa. Before I step out the door, I again send forth righteous thoughts, this time to specifically clear out the dark minions and rotten demons of the old forces so that people can hear the truth. When no one is near me on the road, I recite poems from Hong Yin or articles from Essentials for Further Advancement.
I clarify the truth to people at construction sites, farmers' markets, residential areas, and shopping malls. Once I was at a construction site and saw six workers tightening screws into a machine. I introduced myself and started chatting with them. I explained that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was destined to fall because it had committed so much evil, and many people were withdrawing from it to protect their futures. They all agreed with me when I mentioned the rampant corruption in the Party. I continued to tell them about the persecution of Falun Gong. In the end, all six of them agreed to withdraw from the CCP, and they could not thank me enough. I told them to thank my Teacher and that they will be rewarded if they are respectful towards Dafa.
Then I came across a group of people digging a well. One person was working at ground level, and the others were down in the well. I tried to talk to the man at the top of the well, but he said that he was busy. However, one person invited me to come down into the well to speak to those who were there. I looked down. It was dark and dirty. I hesitated, but I thought about how much they would want to hear the truth once I began explaining it, so I descended. Although they did not quite accept what I told them at first, they eventually agreed to withdraw from the CCP.
I knew Teacher was encouraging me. Through this experience, I understood more deeply what Teacher had said, "While working, your tone of voice, your kindheartedness, and your reasoning can change a person's heart, whereas commands never could! ("Clearheadedness," Essentials for Further Advancement)
At a construction site, I met a beggar in rags. I remembered what Teacher said: "Saving people is just that, saving people, and to pick and choose would not be merciful." ("Fa Teaching at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference") I realized that all sentient beings are here for Dafa, and I should not treat anyone differently based on his or her social status. I proceeded to tell him about the beauty of Dafa, how it has spread around the world, and about the persecution. He also agreed to withdraw from the CCP.
In just two hours, over 30 people withdrew from the CCP. Throughout the process, I discovered many of my attachments, including fear of hardship, fear of dirtiness, impatience, resentment, zealotry, seeking comfort, and accomplishment.
I did this every day for 70 days during my winter holiday season. On average, I persuaded 20 people per day to withdraw from the CCP, without anyone exposing me to the police.
I have found that most people wish to hear about the truth. What prevented us from going out in the past is conditioning by the Party culture: we do not like to speak to strangers. I believe that we should eliminate this notion. Teacher told us in Zhuan Falun, "Your thinking and concepts need to undergo a revolution."
We cultivate ourselves while saving sentient beings. In the beginning, I was frustrated and upset when people did not accept what I had to say, but in the end I was able to clarify the truth to people compassionately while acknowledging their points of view. As I change, the attitudes of the sentient beings change, too. Some shake my hands, others say thank you, some heshi (a gesture of respect) to me or bow. I know that is Teacher encouraging me. During the process, I have eliminated many of my attachments and saved many people.
The more I speak to people, the more I wish to, and the more tolerant I become. As time passes, I gain more wisdom and my xinxing elevates.
Teacher taught us in his article "My version of a Stick Wake-up:"
"The path that Dafa disciples have walked in validating the Fa--where as they cultivate themselves they also save sentient beings, accommodate the needs of the cosmos's Fa-rectification, and disintegrate and clear away the dark minions and rotten demons that are negatively impacting the Fa-rectification and doing evil against Dafa disciples, as well as all the elements of interference and persecution arranged by the old forces--such is the complete path of cultivation, Consummation, and becoming a magnificent god that Disciples of Dafa walk."
I will continue to diligently cultivate with righteous thoughts and righteous actions to save more sentient beings and to fulfill my prehistoric vows.
