(Clearwisdom.net) NIAOSHONG, Taiwan--Accompanied by members of her family, Dr. Chang Mei-Ying, professor of the Department of Photonics, National Sun Yat-sen University, came to the Kaohsiung County Labor Recreation Center on April 10 to watch Shen Yun Performing Arts.

Dr. Chang was deeply touched by the dance Nothing Can Block the Divine Path, which depicts a modern-day story about Falun Gong practitioners who adhere to their belief even when subjected to brutal persecution. She said, "When I attended the show two years ago, I viewed it purely from an artistic angle. Yet, my feeling this year was particularly strong. Especially, the dance Nothing Can Block the Divine Path was so touching. It made me shed tears."

She indicated that in the past she did not understand the persecution of Falun Gong, but through today's performance she finally understood it better.

Dr. Chang's husband, Dr. Han Yu-Kai, a professor associated with the National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, also said the performance allowed him to understand Falun Gong better. Through the performance, he also realized the historic origin and the realm of practitioners.

Dr. Chang added that people who specialized in science and engineering seldom touch the field of arts. She would recommend the show to her graduate students.

Associate Professor: "Every program moved me in a different way"

Dr. Ma Chun-Lin, associate professor from the Department of Social Work, National Pintung University of Science and Technology, also attended Shen Yun's performance on April 10. Dr. Ma praised the show, saying, "Great sincerity was presented in the performance. I could see all kinds of aspects about Chinese culture in the show. There were so many artists dedicated to the show. It greatly affected me." He continued, "I have never seen such a touching performance. Every program moved me in a different way. It was a great experience to watch the show."

Dr. Ma was grieved when learning of the suppression of religious belief depicted in the performance. Yet, he said, the corresponding presentation in Shen Yun was very unique, which touched him. "I feel sorry about religious persecution. As human beings and Chinese people, we should cherish and care for each other. It is very bad when forcible pressure or totalitarianism is imposed on a faith. The way Shen Yun presented this highly moved me--in addition to persecution itself, the show also let us see the wonderful outcome of persevering in a belief. It is very unique." He said that he believed that the power of compassion will be safeguarded and strengthened by Gods and Buddhas.
