Kaohsiung County Magistrate Yang Chiu-Hsing

"It showcased the classical traditional culture. It was so beautiful that I was deeply moved," Mr. Yang Chui-Hsing said. "In particular, when I saw the artistic illustration of the scenario depicting Falun Gong practitioners' unwavering belief while under suppression, I was moved so deeply that I was almost in tears."

Mr. Zhang Qiying, president of an architecture association in Kaohsiung, also attended. He said, "I used to look at people's honest and hypocritical aspects, but here today, I only saw the compassionate side of human nature. Moreover, one very important point was that this show was very influential, which would have an impact on people. With its peaceful introduction, it made me feel relieved spiritually, and made my entire body very relaxed. It has really touched my heart."

Ms. Yeh Li-Chen (2nd from L), Senior Executive President of Merrill Lynch (Asia Pacific) Ltd., came to see the Shen Yun performance with her husband, Dr. Liu Yi-Tien

Others shared that they had a deep sense of the impact that Shen Yun could have on the younger generation. Ms. Yeh Li-Chen said, "Young people nowadays aren't aware of these stories (Chinese folk tales)." Ms. Yeh's husband, Dr. Liu Yi-Tien, chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery at E-Da Hospital, said, "The show is astounding. Traditions should be [important], but very few people promote them in the world. This [Shen Yun performance] is a good start." He also felt that if the children of today would emulate the artists, "every child would be happy and live a healthy life." Dr. Liu also expressed how he felt that he had been transported to another time, "[It] looked like a land of enchanting beauty, like I saw in textbooks as a child. The great scenery made me feel as though I were living in an ancient time of peace and prosperity."
