(Clearwisdom.net) Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, Mr. Jiang Heping has been cruelly persecuted by agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). What follows is a summary of the many ways he has suffered over the past ten years.

Illegal Sentencing

On October 28, 1999, Mr. Jiang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong with several other practitioners from Guangan City. They were picked up on Tiananmen Square and taken back to Guangan City. He was illegally detained in Guangan Detention Center.

On the morning of June 27, 2000, practitioners Jiang Heping, Cao Junjian, and Xia Liang were illegally sentenced in Guangan Regional Court. The court took only about twenty minutes to hear the case and pass judgment.

Mr. Jiang Heping was sentenced to two years in prison and sent to Deyang Prison in Sichuan Province in July 2000.

While he was in Team No. 2 in Deyang Prison, two inmates were assigned to monitor him and beat him or maltreat him in other ways. He was not allowed to use the restroom or to sleep. He was forced to stand facing the wall for prolonged periods of time, which resulted in his lower limbs and feet becoming extremely swollen. In addition, the monitors kicked and beat him. The team leader, with the last name Qiu, also beat him, dragged him by his ears, pushed on his throat to choke him, slapped him, and kicked and hit him.

After he had been in the prison for 48 days, he was transferred to Team No. 6. The guard ordered a group of inmates to try to force him to write the three statements promising to give up Falun Dafa. When Mr. Jiang refused, the inmates brutally beat him until he fell down and could not move. He was severely injured. He was then locked in a small cell and tortured.

After three months, two prison regulators, with the last names of Li and Wu, beat Mr. Jiang until he coughed up blood, his clothing became blood-stained, and one of his legs was broken.

At the end of January 2002, over 20 practitioners who had recanted their forced promises to give up their belief were put into Team No. 2 so they could be closely controlled. Each day at noon, they were made to jog 100 laps around the sports field. When they were too exhausted to run anymore, the inmates were ordered to drag and push them along.

Mr. Jiang lost a drastic amount of weight. He was only about 70 pounds, a shadow of his former self. The torture lasted for eight months, until he was released at the end of October.

Persecution in the Forced Labor Camp

On May 4, 2004, the police took Mr. Jiang to the office of the Public Security Bureau of Guangan City. Staff of the National Security Team of Guangan City, including Li Xiangdong and Luo Cheng (the current vice chief officer of the Public Security Bureau of Huaying City), tortured him during interrogation as they tried to get information from him because he had been carrying truth clarification materials when he was arrested.

Luo Cheng handcuffed Mr. Jiang tightly and shook the handcuffs again and again to make them grip tighter and tighter. The handcuffs eventually cut into the skin of Mr. Jiang's wrists, which started to bleed. Luo Cheng also slapped Mr. Jiang, choked him, and pulled about a quarter of his hair out. His scalp was very sore for a long time after that.

Li Xiangdong forced him to kneel for prolonged periods of time--four hours each time. He was later detained in the Huanying Detention Center, where he was repeatedly interrogated in attempts to make him "confess." He was then transferred to the Public Security Bureau in Yuechi County, where he was again tortured for three days and nights as they tried to extract a confession . Mr. Jiang was then transferred to the detention center in Yuechi County.

Agents of the 610 Office and the National Security Team of Guangan City sentenced him to three years of forced labor. He was transferred to Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province.

As soon as Mr. Jiang arrived at the labor camp, inmates led by Zhao Taiguo beat, terrorized, and tortured him. He lost about 15 pounds in just a few days. The guards in the labor camp forced him to stand facing the wall or sit on a small bench for prolonged periods of time, beat him, cursed him, and placed him in the scorching sun in the summer and outdoors in the freezing temperatures of winter. He was not allowed to sleep before 11:30 p.m.

The guards in the labor camp also forced him and other practitioners to do hard labor. The practitioners had to carry 200-pound bags of materials up several flights of stairs or bring the bags back downstairs. The practitioners were forced to do extra labor of the heaviest type.

Mr Jiang endured the cruel treatment until his term was up on May 13, 2007.

On the Verge of Death

At about 8:00 a.m. on May 13, 2009, when Jiang Heping was talking about the benefits of Falun Gong to a vendor in Longtai Village in the Hesheng region of Guangan City, he was picked up and taken to the local government offices of Longtai Village. He was brutally beaten for several hours until his ears turned black, his face was swollen, and his back and limbs were covered in wounds.

Officers from the Guangan City Public Security Bureau went there to fingerprint Mr. Jiang and take his picture. He later was taken to the Guangan City Chengbei local police station and detained.

When he was in the detention center, he was tortured by staff from the Hengsheng local police station, Guangan City Public Security Bureau, and Guangan City Procuratorate Department. Due to the severity of his injuries, he lost consciousness and looked like he had suffered a stroke. The police took him to a hospital, where a doctor said he had been injured very severely and would never recover. The police had to inform his family, and they quickly left before his family arrived at the hospital. Later, the police forced his son to process the paperwork required for Mr. Jiang's release on bail.

Due to the severity of his injuries, Jiang Heping almost died and has needed constant care.
