South Africa: Falun Gong Practitioners Protest the Persecution in front of Chinese Consulate on Human Rights Day

(Clearwisdom.net) March 21, 2010 marked the 50^th anniversary of the Sharpeville Massacre in South Africa. It is also Human Rights Day in South Africa. Many human rights organizations held events that day. Falun Gong practitioners from Durban also held a protest against the 10-year persecution in front of the Chinese Consulate,

The Sharpeville Massacre, also known as the Sharpeville shootings, occurred on 21 March 1960, when South African police opened fire on a crowd of black protesters, killing 69 people. The confrontation occurred in the township of Sharpeville. Since 1994, March 21 has been commemorated as Human Rights Day in South Africa. Sharpeville was the site selected by President Mandela for the signing into law of the Constitution of South Africa on 10 December 1996.

Falun Gong practitioner took this opportunity to tell people about the 10-year long persecution in China and called for it to end.
