(Clearwisdom.net) Officers from Dongli Police Station in Shijiazhuang City arrested Ms. Wang on March 10, 2009. She was given a one-and-a-half-year sentence in Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shijiazhuang. At the end of her sentence in September 2010, officials refused to release her because she had not renounced her belief in Falun Gong. Her family members were told that she would be released sometime in October, but if her current position did not change she would be arrested again.

Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp

Inside the labor camp

Under the sign "Harmony", brutal torture is the norm

Ms. Wang was sent to the No. 1 Team in the labor camp and was confined to a small cell. Guards and inmates, working for the camp officials, took turns torturing her for eight days. Due to the brutal treatment that she was subjected to, she went on a hunger strike for three days to protest her innocence.

Guard Liu Ziwei removed Ms. Wang from her cell and tried to force her to do hard labor when she still refused to renounce her beliefs after the torture. On May 17, 2009, she told the guard that she could not work due to her poor physical health. Liu Ziwei and an inmate named Zhu Liying then tortured her. Inmates Wang Xiane and Zhang Luyu grabbed Ms. Wang's hair and smashed her head against a wall while she was being kicked and beaten. Ms. Wang's head, face and mouth were bleeding and she lost control of her bowels. She was in agonizing pain.

Practitioners at the camp have to begin work at 5:00 a.m. and work for 17 hours a day. Inmates strictly monitor practitioners while they work, and often beat and swear at them. Ms. Wang was forced to pick cotton seeds and then clean the building, including the bathrooms, with another practitioner named Liu Li. Ms. Liu had been ruthlessly beaten, shocked by electrical batons and hung up for long periods of time. (Ms. Liu's accounts of persecution at the labor camp can be found in the article, "Ms. Liu Li Recounts the Torture She Experienced at Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp." http://www.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2010/6/13/117818.html)

When Ms. Wang and Ms. Liu refused to hand-wash the guards' personal clothing on November 29, 2009, they were locked up in a storage room and forced to stand there for 24 hours. The next day Liu Ziwei made them stand there for another 48 hours. They were forced to do physical labor during the day and stand up overnight. Ms. Liu's body began to swell, she felt dizzy and was unable to stand any more. She was made to use ice-cold water to wash her hair and take a shower. Her body and head hurt each time she touched the cold water. She had diarrhea and had to use the toilet often, but the guards restricted the amount of times she could use the toilet. Practitioners Wang Yueqin, Ji Shujun and Liu Li went on a hunger strike for four days to protest and demand that Ms. Liu be allowed to use the bathroom more often.
