(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Hongguo from Zaoqiang County, Hengshui City, was illegally arrested on the evening of October 16 in Zhangjiakou City. Officers from the Jianguo Road Police Station in the Qiaodong District made the arrest. We learned that Mr. Zhang was on the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) online "wanted" list and that he was arrested after he checked in at a hotel. Mr. Zhang is currently held in the Nangong Detention Center in the Xingtai area.
Mr. Zhang has been subjected to illegal detention, extortion, and home ransacking numerous times since the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong.
On December 15, 1999, Mr. Zhang went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He was arrested and held in the Daxing Detention Center for five days. Zhang Xinyi and other officers from the Zaoqiang County Police Department escorted him back to Zaoqiang. Mr. Zhang was handcuffed and hung from the roof of the police vehicle during the five to six-hour-long trip back to Zaoqiang. They took 4,000 yuanfrom him, held him in the Zaoqiang Detention Center for two weeks, and subjected him to all kinds of torture. He was violently beaten and forced to take a bath in icy cold water.
On May 13, 2000, Mr. Zhang and more than a hundred practitioners did the exercises outside the railway station in order to let everyone in the county know that Falun Dafa is good and to celebrate the eighth anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public. After only 15 minutes, officers from the Zaoqiang County Police Department and Domestic Security Division arrived and surrounded the practitioners. Sixty were arrested, and Mr. Zhang was held for more than one month and had 2,700 yuan extorted from him before he was released. The police ordered him to report at the police department on the regime's so-called sensitive days. Sometimes he had to report twice a day and would be fined if he was late. Once Mr. Zhang had to hand over 1,000 yuan because he was out of town on an errand and was one day late in reporting to the police.
At the end of 2003, Mr. Zhang was taken to the Hengshui Brainwashing Center and held for nearly a month. During the entire time he was detained there he was forced to listen to propaganda that slandered Dafa and Master.
Over the past years, Mr. Zhang and his family have been subjected to constant harassment. The parties that have been involved in this include officers from the 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, Jiahui Police Station, and Chengguan Police Station.
In the middle of the night on May 5, 2010, two police officers in uniform and seven plainclothes officers climbed over the wall and jumped into Mr. Zhang's courtyard. Only two children were at home. These home invaders did not present any legal documents before they ransacked the home and confiscated a computer and other personal belongings. They even seized the children's cell phones. We have learned that they were from the Nangong Police Station and Zaoqiang Police Department.
