(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Ma Chuanzhi and Ms. Chen Guiyan are from Jinshantun District in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. They were turned in at around 2:00 p.m. on October 7, 2010, as they were talking to people about Falun Gong.
He Shaofeng and Feng Qi from the 110 Emergency Squad led several policemen to illegally arrest Ms. Ma and Ms. Chen. The two practitioners were then taken to the Jinshantun Police Station.
Ms. Ma and Ms. Chen were sent to the Jinshantun Detention Center at 11:30 a.m. on October 8, 2010, and detained there for ten days. At that time, the police threatened that they would be imprisoned at a forced labor camp. That afternoon, the police illegally searched and ransacked their homes, confiscating their Falun Gong books.
An official with last name Liu from the Law Enforcement Department of the Jinshantun Police Department took the practitioners' case files to Yichun City on Saturday October 15, 2010. On October 16, their families were notified that each practitioner was sentenced to one year of forced labor.
Ms. Ma Chuanzhi has been detained at brainwashing centers several times since the Chinese Communist Party began persecuting Falun Gong in 1999.
In April 2002, Ms. Ma Chuanzhi and practitioners Bao Yongsheng and Zhang Yuanshen were arrested while posting Falun Gong informational materials. Shen Xiangfu from the local Procuratorate was involved in that arrest and hit Bao Yongsheng with a stick. Ms. Ma was tortured by officers from the Jinshantun Police Department and the local 610 Office while in detention, and subsequently sentenced to three years of imprisonment by the Jinshantun District Procuratorate.
