On the morning of October 9, 2010, local policeman Wang Jian from Longfeng District, Daqing City, and three or four policemen from Wolitun went to Longjiang Bank in the Jinshiji Business Plaza and took Mr. He Biao into custody. At the same time, his wife, Ms. Han Yunhua, was taken from her office by Chinese Communist Party personnel.
Mr. He Biao, 45, worked in the Property Administration Center of the Mine Area Service Department of the Daqing Petrochemical Company. He was laid off because of his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance; because of his belief in Falun Gong.
He started to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. After practicing, he benefited both physically and mentally. He was a chef in the employee cafeteria and worked without complaint. He was praised by his boss and colleagues. However, because he practiced Falun Gong, the company terminated his contract under orders from upper management. After he appealed many times, he obtained a security guard job in the family housing area. His monthly wage was very low. He had to ride a tricycle to make a living when he was not on guard duty.
Ms. Han Yunhua, 43, worked in the Thiamine Workshop of the Second Chemical Factory of the Daqing Petrochemical Company. She started to practice Falun Dafa in 1996 and follows the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She was praised by her boss and colleagues.
In October 2005, Ms. Han was taken to the Daqing Detention Center. She was released after going on a hunger strike for over 30 days. In March 2008, officers from the Daqing Domestic Security Team took her to the Wolitun Police Department in the Longfeng District, Daqing City. In order to force her to give up her belief, the police covered her mouth and nose with a mask soaked in mustard oil to suffocate her. She was tortured the whole afternoon. When the police saw they could not achieve their goal, they sent her to a forced labor camp.
As a result of being tortured in the police department, Ms. Han was very weak. The forced labor camp refused to accept her. The domestic security officers threatened the factory where Ms. Han worked and forced them to put her a two-year probation. If she still did not give up her belief, the company would formally lay her off. During the probation, she had to live on a stipend of only 800 yuan.
