(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhang Qin was a key engineer at Shengde Plastic Ltd. in Shanghai. He was head of the Quality Control Section and a general engineer. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Mr. Zhang has been illegally arrested many times. He was detained in Tilanqiao Prison for four years. His parents are over 80 years old, weak and sick. They all depend on Mr. Zhang. Their lives are very hard without their son to care for them.
Around June 5, 2009, policemen from the Xuhui District seized Zhang Qin, Ms. Li Yaohua, and her daughter Zhang Yibo. It was the sixth time Mr. Zhan had been arrested. On March 31, 2010, Ms. Li Yaohua was sentenced to three and a half years in prison; Ms. Zhang Yibo, 18 months; Mr. Zhang Qin, five years. Although Mr. Zhang said he would appeal, the Intermediate People's Court did not review his case at all and just gave him a "final decision."
Mr. Zhang Qin's parents have not been informed of his current whereabouts. Since Mr. Zhang was taken away, his parents have not seen him. His parents wrote to the Shanghai Mayor, the warden of Tilanqiao Prison, and the director of the Xuhui Police Department many times. They have yet to receive a reply. According to a reliable source, Mr. Zhang is being held in Tilanqiao Prison. Further details are unknown.
