(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 15 Falun Dafa practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Kunming City, Yunan Province] Ms. Dai Qiongxian Losing Eyesight Due to Torture
It took many requests for Ms. Dai's family members to be able visit her at the Yunan Province Second Women's Prison on August 25, 2009. Officials from the prison finally agreed to the visit. She was subjected to inhuman torture and has lost most of her eyesight. She can no longer recognize anything clearly, be it far or near. In addition, she has lost a lot of weight and is practically skin and bones.
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dong Hongzhu Arrested
On August 13, 2009, Ms. Dong was arrested at her son's home by officers from the Heping District Public Security Sub-bureau. Her whereabouts are unknown.
3. [Beijing City] Many Practitioners Arrested by Shijingshan District Police
Ms. Zhang is a school teacher who resides at Jinding Street, Shijingshan District, Beijing City. Local police arrested her in February 2009. Authorities sentenced her to a prison term and ransacked her home.
Ms. Cheng Xiurong is a resident at the Xingyuan, Shijingshan District, Beijing City. Local police arrested her and ransacked her home several times. Then, she was sentenced to forced labor. She suffered torture and brainwashing at the camp.
Mr. Di Guangcai, in his seventies, is from Yamenkou Village, Beijing City. Local police arrested him many times and ransacked his home. In May 2007, Mr. Di was arrested again and sentenced to a seven-year prison term. He is imprisoned at the Tianjin Detention Center.
Mr. Di Guangsheng is a resident in Yamenkou Village. Local police arrested him in April 2007, and ransacked his home. He was sentenced to a two year prison term and suffered torture and brainwashing.
Ms. Dong Xinzhen is a resident of Yamenkou Village, Beijing City. Local police ransacked her home. To avoid being arrested, she became homeless.
4. [Chongqing City] Ms. Chen Xianhui Arrested
Ms. Chen is from Jiangjin District, Chongqing City. Officers from the Dongcheng Police Station in Jiangjin District arrested her on the morning of August 25, 2009, when she was distributing truth-clarification materials while riding on public transportation. On August 26, she was taken to the Jiangjin Detention Center.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Lei Arrested
Officers from the Shunyi District Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Liu Lei.
6. [Yanzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Fengbao and Wife Arrested
On the morning of August 27, 2009, local police arrested Mr. Zhang and his wife. The officers ransacked and their home.
7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qiu Shaojie Arrested and Sentenced
Mr. Qiu is a school teacher from the Zhifu District, Yantai City. On March 24, 2009, he was arrested by officers from the Wuzhong School, his place of work. He was taken to the Xingfu 610 Office brainwashing class, located in the Zhifu District, Yantai City
Officers from the Zhifu District Police Station and Xingfu 610 Office ransacked his home. On May 4, he was taken to the Nanjiao Detention Center in Zhifu District.
On July 29, he was illegally sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Zhifu District Court in Yantai City. Mr. Qiu is still held at the Nanjiao Detention Center.
8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Guiqin Arrested
Ms. Zhang resides at Xiaozhao Yujia Village, Jiulongjieban, Fanzi District, Weifang City. On the afternoon of August 26, 2009, officers from the Fangzi Police Station arrested Ms. Zhang.
9. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jia Chunju, Mr. Gu Tilin and Mr. Li Shengcai Arrested
Ms. Jia and Mr. Gu are residents at Jiawazi Village, Yangli Town in Laiwu City. On August 24, 2009, Ms. Jia and Mr. Gu went to Mr. Li Shengcai's home to study the teachings of Falun Dafa. They were reported and local police arrested them and ransacked their homes.
10. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Du Lanrui and Mr. Wang Guande Arrested
Mr. Wang and his wife, Ms. Du are residents at Canglingjiao Village, Huzhen Town, Jinyun County. On the morning of August 26, 2009, they went to Zhenjunfan Village in Qianlu County to clarify the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were reported to local authorities. They were arrested by cadets from Qianlu County, the Jinyun County 610 Office and officers from the Huzhen Town Police Station. Their Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

11. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xiaoyin and Mr. Sun Bo Arrested
Ms. Xiaoyin's home is in the Wuzhaomen, Baixia District in Nanjing. On August 20, 2009, she was arrested by officers from the Ruijin Street Police Station and the District Police Bureau at her work place. Her home was ransacked.
Mr. Sun Bo lives in Nanjing City. He was arrested by the local police on July 16, 2009. On August 1, he was taken to Fangqiang Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term.
12. [Baoji City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Qiang Huilan, Ms. Wang Juxiang and Mr. Cai Jinrong and Others Taken to Detention Centers
Ms. Qiang Huilan, Mr. Zhao Ru, Ms. Wang Juxiang, Mr. Zhang Chunlin, Ms. Wang Quaiyan and Ms. Wang Suxia are residents of Baoji City. Local police arrested them on July 8, 2009.
In the end of July, Mr. Zhao Ru and Ms. Qiang Huilan were transferred to the Weibin District Detention Center in Baoji City. Mr. Zhao has been released recently, but his wife, Ms. Qiang (in her seventies) is still detained.
In early August, Ms. Wang Juxiang was transferred from Dianlibinguan Detention Center to the Jintai Detention Center in Baoji City. The whereabouts of Mr. Zhang Chunlin and his wife, Ms. Wang Quaiyan, are unknown. Ms. Wang Suxia has been released.
13. [ Jingmen City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cui Ronghua Arrested
In the morning of August 6, 2009, officers from the Dayukou East District Police Station arrested Ms. Cui. She was later taken to the Zhongxiang Detention Center in Hebei.
14. [Longchang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Bin Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Yu was arrested sometime after 1999. She was detained in the Zizhongnanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Sichuan Province for three years because she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. In labor camp, she suffered brutal torture. The prison guards stripped off her clothes and beat her savagely, resulting in three broken ribs. They also deprived her of sleep. Later, they transferred her to a mental hospital where the guards shocked her head with electric batons for several hours. She suffered mentally and physically from the torture.
After her release, her husband divorced her. She moved to Guangzhou City where she worked part-time to support herself and her son.
On August of 2008, the so called "Olympic Game sensitive time", officers from the Taishen Road Police Station in Chengdu City arrested her and ransacked her home. Ms. Yu was held at the Anjing Town Detention Center in Pi County. She was tortured and they injected unknown drugs into her. On June 4, 2009, she was transferred back to the Longchang City mental hospital. Grieving for Ms. Yu's hardship, her aging mother passed away while Ms. Yu was detained in the mental hospital. Her young son was forced to move to the southern part of Longchang City and work to support himself after he graduated from high school.
15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Juhua Arrested
Ms. Li lives in Huangpo, Wuhan City. On August 19, 2009, she was arrested by officers from the local police station at her home. She was imprisoned in the Erdaopeng Brainwashing Class in Jianghan District, Whuhan City.
16. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Huang Xiaoyu Arrested
In the evening of July 9, 2009, Ms. Huang was visiting her friends, Mr. Zhang Yuanbo and his wife, Ms. Aying. Officers from Tianhe Detention Center stormed into Mr. Zhang's house, ransacked it and arrested Ms. Huang. She was first held in the Tianhe Detention Center and later transferred to Chatou Women's Forced Labor Camp where she is to serve a one-year term.

17. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Guide and Others Arrested
Mr. Liu Guide, Mr. Zhang Qingfu, Ms. Liu Shunmei, Mr. Bao Xizhu and Ms. Xin Yuxiu are residents at Guan Village, Longjiaquan Town, in Yishui County. At around 3 p.m. on August 20, 2009, when they were distributing materials that expose the persecution in Zhongzhuang County. They were reported and arrested by local police. Two practitioners were detained at the Yiyuan Detention Center, while the other three are detained in the Zibo Detention Center.

18. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Lei Lihua and Others Detained
Ms. Lei Lihua, Ms. Wang Wuxia, Ms. Yan Shuzhou, Mr. Gong Deyuan and Ms. Luo Tongchun are residents of Shaoyang City. On April 18, 2009, officers from the Shaoyang Police Department arrested them. They are detained in the local police station.
