Deputy Director of the Hongchun Police Station, Mr. Huang, and police officer Guo viewed the paintings on September 4.
When Deputy Huang saw the painting, "Falun Gong practitioners suffer in China," he was shocked and chagrined by the brutality depicted in the painting. He was astonished that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) treats people so brutally. Mr. Huang said, "Falun Gong is visible everywhere in Taiwan. I hope that more people learn about Falun Gong, such a graceful practice. The state and the police should help and safeguard people. Safeguarding justice and protecting people's lives and property are the police's duty. The international community should not allow such brutality to occur." He called on everyone to support Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Mr. Guo said, "The painting, 'Crime in Sujiatun' is shocking. This is my first time to hear of the [CCP's] live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. The two doctors in the painting realized that they are committing crimes, yet still removed organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. I believe the doctors in the painting would never forget the experience. I hope that everyone will work together to stop such crimes."
Director Li of Miaoli Hospital and his wife, and Director Wu of the Hongchun Tourist Hospital (first from left) listen to the guide's explanation.
Director Li of Miaoli Hospital and his wife were on vacation in Hongchun. They came to view the paintings under the invitation of Director Wu of the Hongchun Tourist Hospital. After learning about the investigation report into the CCP's live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners, written by Canadian human rights lawyer David Matas and former Secretary of State David Kilgour, Mr. Li said, "I have been a doctor for more than 30 years. I take patients' health as my primary duty. Organ transplantation is a serious issue. The source of organs is very limited. It is unbelievable that it is so easy for patients to get organ transplantation in China."
Dr. Wu said, "Doctors should rescue people, not harm them."
Dr. Wu lived in the USA for 33 years and returned to Taiwan to reside and run a clinic in Hongchun. He was shocked after viewing the paintings depicting the CCP's organ harvesting. He said, "It is unpardonable that such cruel things occur in this world. The CCP is so brutal and undemocratic. One loses all if he loses his freedom. Doctors should rescue people, not harm them."
President Li of the Industry and Commerce School said, "The artists present the message of compassion via composition and mood."
A message posted on the Pingdong County Department of Culture website encourages residents to view the exhibition.
