Ms. Farkas was visibly moved after seeing Shen Yun for the first time. "It brings tears to my eyes right now, just imagining the scene where the husband is being persecuted and the child is left crying and the wife doesn't know what to do. It put a lump in my throat and my heart was feeling for them completely."

"That was just awesome for me to be a part of that, and the whole emotional movement of learning about the history of Asian life and the different aspects and the different types of costumes, they're just awesome!"

She shared that she was touched by the message of hope many people feel upon seeing the show. "In my own life I'm going through some situations right now, and it was just like little messages from the angels telling me that everything is going to be okay. So that was also spectacular, yes! yes!"

Commenting on the dances, she said, "The veils touched my heart and made me cry. Because I appreciate flowing fabric and the way that everything moved in synchronicity, and beautiful motion, like flowers blossoming and blooming and opening up. It was just beautiful."

Ms. Farkas said that as a designer, she was greatly inspired by watching Shen Yun on many levels. "Inspirational! The costumes of that era. It just brings a lot of joy and happiness to people to see that. And if you look at today's fashion, a lot of today's fashion influences come from this historic era, just interpreted in a more modern light."

She felt that seeing the show helped her see the hope of re-awakening the spiritual aspects of China's traditional culture. "There is a chance for a spiritual awakening and freedom of movement that didn't exist before, and you can definitely feel that as well in the performances. I myself meditate and try to live a very spiritual life. So I can also appreciate the messages that were here today."

Commenting on the spirituality of ancient China that Shen Yun Performing Arts seeks to preserve, Ms. Farkas said, "It's very interesting because I watched an episode of Frontline News where they were talking about China today, and they were talking about the way that it [China] has changed and everything is driven by money and business, and by doing that, they have lost of a lot of their spiritual core."

Ms. Farkas said she would definitely recommend Shen Yun to her friends. "Absolutely! I saw on the brochure that it is coming back in January, between the 20th and the 24th, of 2010. And I'll be back. And I'm going to bring my husband. Unfortunately this time he was in Canada. He really, really wanted to see the show, but it didn't happen this time, but I'll get him next time!"
