Ms. Chen Yingqi, Teacher from Guangdong Province, Suffers Mental Disorder from Torture
It was recently reported that at the end of 2003, Ms. Chen Yingqi, a teacher from No. 1 Wuchuan Middle School in Guangdong Province, developed a mental disorder as a result of being tortured by police officers from Wuchuan City. She was around 31 years old at the time.
In early 2000, in order to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa, Ms. Chen went to Beijing to appeal to the government. She ended up being taken to Wuchuan City Detention Center by local police officers and then transferred to the notorious Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province. She was held here for more than a year. Because she refused to give up her belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, she was brutally tortured. As a result, she couldn't eat or drink and was at risk of dying. Because of her condition, she was released.
After she returned home, she continued to practice Falun Gong and began to recover. Gradually, she fully recovered from all the ill effects of her illegal detention. From 2001 to 2003, when the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) officers from the Wuchuan "610 Office" and Domestic Security Brigade found out that she had recovered, personnel from Wuchuan City Security Bureau and the Principal of Wuchuan No. 1 Middle School and other officials tracked her down and harassed her. This continued for a long time. She was even taken to brainwashing sessions and was detained at least three times.
At the end of 2003 when she was released, she couldn't recognize anyone and appeared catatonic. Her family and friends were shocked - they couldn't imagine how much she had suffered during her detainment.
