Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Jiang Zhaofang and Ms. Ju Lili were illegally arrested on the evening of May 17, 2009 by police from the Zhongyuan Petroleum Field 610 Office and Police Department. They had previously been arrested, detained and sent to a forced labor camp many times by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).They had also been detained in mental hospitals and suffered from the brutal persecution.
The Continuous Persecution of Ms. Jiang Zhaofang
Ms. Jiang Zhaofang, in her forties, is a former employee of the Zhongyuan Petroleum Field Accounting Center. Before she started to practice Falun Gong, she had many illnesses. She sought medical treatment everywhere and took many kinds of medicine, but none of them helped. After she started to practice Falun Gong, her illnesses disappeared and her body and mind recovered.
After July 20, 1999, Ms. Jiang was forcibly detained at a brainwashing center and sent to a mental hospital many times by officer Han Qing and others from the Zhongyuan Petroleum Field 610 Office. Han Qing forced Ms. Jiang's colleagues to falsely testify that she had a history of mental illness and then forcibly detained her at the Water Power Plant Mental Hospital in Zhongyuan Petroleum Field. Ms. Jiang refused to take the drugs that were given to treat mental illness. The officers in the mental hospital then force-fed her drugs through her nose and used a high voltage electric baton to beat her. Ms. Jiang's old and sick parents requested to see her many times, but their requests were rejected. Since Ms. Jiang refused to be "transformed," she was transferred to the Xinxiang Mental Hospital and suffered there for another year.
Ms. Jiang Zhaofang had to face the mentally-ill patients all day and also suffered from the damage done by the drugs. Her body and mind were affected tremendously. Usually seven to eight people forcibly held her and injected drugs into her body that damaged her central nervous system. Even before the hospital officers pulled out the needle, she fainted. While in the mental hospital, Ms. Jiang was pressured to sign an agreement to give up her job seniority and was also forced to divorce her husband.
Ms. Jiang was detained and sent to a forced labor camp many times. Once in the Zhengzhou Forced Labor Camp, she witnessed guards using all kinds of brutal means to torture Falun Gong practitioners. She wrote a letter to the forced labor camp to expose the crimes, and guard Jia Meili was very angry. She locked her in a cold and damp small room, and incited the criminals to pull her hair and hit her head hard against the wall. Jia Meili also incited the criminals to beat and kick Ms. Jiang. The extent of her injuries were such that she could no longer take care of herself. She could not walk or squat. After one and a half years of brutal torture, Ms. Jiang Zhaofang was released. When she got back home, she was lame and extremely thin.
In October 2008, only half a year after she was released, she was again arrested by the police from the Zhongyuan Petroleum Field Police Department and held at the detention center. She was forced to do hard labor for over 10 hours every day. Her thigh, which had been previously injured in the forced labor camp, festered again and a lot of putrid pus oozed out.
On the evening of May 17, 2009, Ms. Jiang Zhaofang was arrested again.
The Continuous Persecution of Ms. Ju Lili
Ms. Ju Lili, in her forties, was an employee of the Zhongyuan Petroleum TV University. She was arrested many times by the CCP police and taken to a detention center, brainwashing center or mental hospital. She was sentenced to forced labor twice, once for two years and once for three years. She was also coerced into divorcing her husband.
When Ms. Ju Lili was detained at the Xinxiang Mental Hospital, the police from the Zhongyuan Petroleum Field 610 Office incited the mental hospital to force her to watch the staged Tiananmen Square immolation video tapes. Ms. Ju Lili said the incident was faked and was used to frame Falun Dafa. The 610 Office police knew this and said, "She has been detained in the mental hospital for so long but her mind is still clear. We must increase her drug dosage." After receiving instructions from the 610 Office, the doctors in the Xinxiang Mental Hospital tied Ms. Ju Lili to the bed and for four continuous days forcibly injected a huge amount of unknown drugs into her body, which caused her to pass out. Four days later, Ms. Ju Lili was abruptly woken up by electric shocks. She had loose teeth, gastric hemorrhage, dizziness, liver pain, incontinence and other symptoms. Later, she developed a longterm bitter and astringent taste in her mouth and her memory deteriorated significantly.
When Ms. Ju Lili was awake, she clarified the truth about Falun Gong to other patients' family members and the workers in the mental hospital. She also frequently took care of two patients in the same room who had severe mental health problems. One of them did not eat in the beginning and did not know how to use the toilet facilities properly or how to raise her pants afterwards, but Ms. Ju Lili still helped her. The patient's father cried, "You are a very good person. You do not have any illness. Those police are very evil. They are just persecuting you." After the patient's father went back home, he called Ms. Ju Lili's family many times to ask whether she had been released. He worried about her very much.
After Ms. Ju Lili was released, she was arrested again on January 2, 2005 by officers from the National Security Team in the Hualong District Police Department in Puyang City while she was clarifying the truth. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor and was imprisoned at the Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City. In the forced labor camp, Ms. Ju Lili refused the "transformation" and was detained in a small dark room for more than a year. She had to sleep on the cold ground every day and was monitored 24 hours a day. Ms. Ju Lili was brutally tortured and her body was very weak. She had serious anemia and fainted many times due to the persecution. Her life was in great danger. Her family members requested her release for medical treatment, but the Zhongyuan Petroleum Field 610 Office rejected the family's request.
During her detention, Qiao Chunlan from the Law Office of the Zhongyuan Petroleum Field Police Department and someone from the Political Security Office extorted 7,000 yuan and then another 5,000 yuan in "guarantee money" from Ms. Ju Lili's family, but they did not provide any receipt nor did they return the money.
When Ms. Ju Lili was released after three years of forced labor, the Zhongyuan Petroleum Field 610 Office used the excuse that she was not "transformed" to delay her return to her original work for another half a year. During the Beijing Olympic Games, Ms. Ju Lili was forcibly detained at the Zhongyuan Petroleum TV University brainwashing center. She was so brutally tortured that she could not get up from the bed. The 610 Office police also tried to coerce her into "transforming" and writing a repentance statement.
