The Cultivation Experience of a Disabled Practitioner
(Clearwisdom.net) I am almost seventy years old and I have a slight physical disability. After I started practicing Falun Dafa, I became stronger than I was in my youth. I can lift an object weighing 10-15 kilograms (22-33 lbs.). Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is on my mind all the time. The happiest time of my life has been my time cultivating Falun Dafa.
Before Dafa cultivation, I had many illnesses. I had suffered from muscle and shoulder inflammation, back pain, and blood in my stool. I needed to use a cane to help me walk. After I had cultivated for a while, all of these illnesses disappeared. Since beginning cultivation in 1994, I haven't spent a penny on medical expenses. I used to get angry easily and become depressed. When something negative was said to me, I became unhappy and took it to heart. Now my mind has expanded and I don't get angry at everything that is in conflict with my own thinking. I always think of others first and treat others with kindness.
On July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party began the persecution of Falun Dafa, I went with other practitioners early in the morning to the city hall in Shenyang City to do a sit-in. Both sides of the street were filled with people when I got there. Later, many police vehicles arrived and took people away. They took us to a Liaoning gymnasium, and many people were there already when I got there. They let us sit on the stage, and everyone seemed to be in good mood. Usually in late July the sun was scorching hot, but that day the sun seemed to be gentle and it felt very comfortable. People outside the wire fence sent in bread, biscuits and water. Later, someone sent in a pair of slippers. We were taken to buses in the afternoon and sent to Xinmin County. Six big buses were filled with people. When we left, people clapped their hands to send us off. We felt very excited because we did what we were supposed to do.
In October 2000, I was on my way to Beijing to appeal. I was arrested at the train station and taken to a local police station. They took away the 800 yuan that I had with me. I was sent to the Longshan Forced Labor Camp the following day. There were more than one hundred female and thirty male practitioners imprisoned in the camp. Fellow practitioners treated me kindly and it felt good to be with them. I was located upstairs and every day we needed to go downstairs to have meals. The stairway was so steep that two fellow practitioners helped me to walk up and down the stairs. They also helped me wash my clothes and they cared for me. I felt that fellow practitioners were the best people in this world.
I knew that all Dafa cultivators were good people. Among those hundred practitioners, there were shoe repairmen, housewives, workers, peasants, college students, and college professors. They were all good people. For example, they cleaned the restroom without being told. All of the restrooms were clean and tidy. Fellow practitioners helped one another. They cleaned the dining room without others saying a word. It would be wonderful if the world were filled with people like them.
I was illegally detained in the labor camp for 80 days and was extorted out of 5000 yuan for a "boarding fee." My son was worried sick when I was arrested. My younger sister came to visit me on the second day but the camp personnel didn't allow her to see me. All she could do was go home in tears. On December 20, 2000, I was released on bail for medical treatment.
After I returned home, fellow practitioners came over to do exercises and study the Fa with me. They also helped me clean my room. A young practitioner in her ninth month of pregnancy came over every day to help me tidy up my house and cleaned the restroom. I was so touched.
