(Clearwisdom.net) A few days before the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) held the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference this year, a practitioner at an informational materials production center asked me to help fix a CD burner problem. When I arrived, I saw that the practitioner was busy working on the hardware. I suggested sending forth righteous thoughts. After that, we quickly found the problem and fixed it. As I was leaving, I put 10 truth-clarification VCDs in my bag, planning to distribute them on my way home.
Since it was a very sensitive period, the CCP was extremely worried about everything that went on. During that period, there were many policemen stationed at intersections and in public areas, and police cars patrolled the streets day and night. The police would stop people and search them at will.
As I walked to the main square of our city, I heard a police whistle behind me. I ignored it and continued walking. Then a police patrol car stopped next to me. Three policemen got out of the vehicle and started walking towards me. They looked at me, then one policeman pointed to my bag and asked, "What's in your bag?" The VCDs were in it.
In the face of this sudden situation, I didn't feel any fear. Instead of answering their question, I smiled at them calmly and sent forth a strong righteous thought, "The policemen are also people to be saved. They should not be controlled by the old forces to commit crimes against Dafa or hurt themselves and their families. Teacher, please strengthen me. Guardian gods of the Fa, please help." I looked at them peacefully. After a few seconds of silence, the senior policeman looked at his watch and said, "Let's go. It's almost time. We still have many places to go." They returned to the car. The police car turned on its siren and disappeared quickly. I found a proper opportunity and distributed all of the VCDs.
Teacher said,
"If every Dafa disciple can think and act righteously as he goes about things and can look at things with righteous thoughts under any circumstance, none of you will become afraid when facing persecution. If that is how you are, who would dare to persecute you!" ("Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005")
Looking back at my encounter with the policemen, I was not scared, nor did I have any bad thoughts. I just felt that clarifying the truth to save people was the natural, sacred thing to do, and I remained calm and pure. So when my righteous thoughts came out, all the unrighteous factors were disintegrated. The righteous thoughts are divine thoughts. They are compatible and interlinked with the universe, and they have the power of the Fa.
Thus I understood that while validating the Fa, no matter what situations we run into, we should use righteous thoughts, not the human heart, to view and control the situation. Our thoughts need to be pure. Teacher said "the thought at that moment can bring about different consequences." ("Upgrading Xinxing," Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun).
It is very important to use righteous thoughts to rectify our every thought and direct every action. I remembered that in 2001, when the evil persecuted Dafa badly, two practitioners in our area went to Beijing to validate the Fa. One practitioner went to Tiananmen Square. He calmly displayed a truth-clarification banner and shouted "Falun Dafa is Good." Plainclothes police surrounded him and pushed him to a police van off the street. When he was pushed into the van, the practitioner had a thought, "I am here to validate the Fa, not to be imprisoned. Whatever way I came from, I should return the same way. And I should leave right now." He then jumped out of the van and left. The policemen stood there and watched him leave. He went home safely and continues doing the three things to this day.
Another practitioner went to the Appeals Office in Beijing to report the persecution of Dafa. When she arrived at the building, she saw many people standing outside and looking helpless. Police officers frequently came out to drive the petitioners away or to arrest them. She thought, "I traveled a long way to seek justice for Dafa. I am not here to go through a formality. I must go in!" So she walked through the petitioners and entered the reception office. The staff asked her, "What are you petitioning for?" She said directly and peacefully, "I am here to petition against the unjust treatment of Falun Gong and our Teacher." Then she shared about how she and other practitioners had benefited physically and mentally from practicing Dafa. She used her experiences to tell the staff that Falun Dafa is a great Fa with everlasting mighty virtue, and that the persecution must be stopped immediately. When she finished talking, she calmly walked out of the Appeals Office and returned home without any trouble.
Many stories of fellow practitioners' righteous thoughts and righteous actions in the past several years have been very enlightening to me. I realized that only when we keep righteous thoughts at all times and use pure and ample righteous thoughts to control ourselves, can we do well the "three things." As Master said,
"Only when you follow Master's requirements are you validating the Fa and cultivating yourself as a Dafa disciple, and only then are you a true Dafa disciple." ("Be Clearheaded")
