Press Conference in Japan to Expose Beijing's Persecution of Falun Gong

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 6, 2009, Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan. Four Chinese people who currently live in Japan participated in the press conference: "Stop the persecution and return my family to me." They described how their family members were tortured in China because they practiced Falun Dafa.

Zhang Yanhui, a student, exposed how his elder brother's organs were removed while he was still alive. Zhang wished to let more people know through the media about the brutal persecution in China. He called on the Japanese government and the international community to help stop the persecution and rescue Falun Gong practitioners.

Falun Gong Practitioner Dies After Torture and Organ Removal While Alive

Zhang Yanhui's older brother Zhang Yanchao was tortured by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) public security police and died in April 2002. A police officer told Zhang Yanhui that his brother's internal organs, skin and one eyeball were removed against his will.

Zhang Yanhui investigated his brother's death. On March 27, 2002, police from the Hongqi Town Police Station in Wuchang, Harbin, arrested his brother and imprisoned him in the Wuchang City Prison. Four days later, his left leg had been fractured because of beatings and he was transferred to the Harbin Public Security Detention Center. On April 27, his brother was taken to a torture room equipped with over 40 torture instruments. Fu Xiuchun, officer of the Wuchang City 610 Office, disclosed, "In the Harbin Detention Center, Zhang Yanchao was beaten to death in less than two days."

Zhang Yanhui said that the Lalin Public Security Bureau called him and his family in the evening on April 27 and asked them to claim the body before it was cremated. The police said his brother died from going on a hunger strike. When Zhang Yanhui saw his brother's body, one of his eyes was gone, his teeth were broken, his chin was shattered and one of his legs was broken. There was an incision running down from his chin to his lower abdomen. The incision was stitched up using a gunny rope. His brother's chest caved in. Zhang Yanhui said that a police officer told him that his brother's organs were removed while he was still alive, after brutal beatings.

CCP Sentenced Former Student to an Eleven-Year Prison Term

The entire Bolin family practices Falun Gong. The six of them suffered different degrees of persecution. Mr. Bolin's 67-year-old mother Zhan Qingmin was unlawfully arrested and detained six times. His sister-in-law, older sister and two younger brothers were detained and their money extorted. He did not suffer persecution because he lives in Japan.

Bolin said one of his younger brothers, Xie Yunhuan, is imprisoned in the 10^th prison ward in the Mudanjiang Prison. Since 2001, he had been taken to brainwashing sessions many times and suffered physical torture.

"Since July 1999, tens of thousands of young people like my brother have been imprisoned and tortured. Tens of thousands of families like ours have been torn apart," said Bolin, "There are over 3,000 confirmed deaths of Falun Dafa practitioners; these practitioners simply wanted to hold on to their belief."

Associate Professor Imprisoned in Mental Hospital

Wu Lili's sister Wu Xiaohua is 35 years old and used to be an associate professor at the Anhui University of Architecture in Hefei City, Anhui Province. She used to have severe diabetes and recovered after practicing Falun Dafa. In October 2001, Wu Xiaohua was arrested and taken to a forced labor camp. She was tortured through different methods. One time her mouth was stuffed with discarded tissue paper full of blood. She went on a hunger strike for almost ten days and was taken to the Fourth People's Hospital in Hefei, Anhui. In the hospital, the hospital staff stripped her, poked her with a needle through which ran an electric current, shocked her, and injected and force-fed her with nerve damaging drugs. A report indicated that she was once locked in a room full of mosquitoes and forced to urinate and defecate in a pigpen full of spiders and spider webs.

Wu Xiaohua was locked in a forced labor camp for almost two years. She was force-fed during a hunger strike and the guard broke four of her teeth. The long-term torture had made her extremely weak and her hair turned almost all white. On November 16, 2003, she was taken to the Second Detention Center in Hefei City. The minute she got there, she was immobilized on a bed for nine days.

Wu Lili said her sister has been locked up in a mental hospital for over a year now. She is being tortured and injected with nerve damaging drugs.

According to Wu, in Japan there are at least 47 Falun Gong practitioners who were illegally detained in China and suffered different degrees of persecution.
