(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 22 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 27 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mother and Son Arrested
Between 1 and 2 p.m. on March 18, 2009, plainclothes police from Zhigou Town, Zhucheng City, Shandong Province broke into a Falun Gong practitioner's home. Ms. Zhao and her son were illegally arrested. Their home was ransacked, and the police confiscated a computer, printer, and Falun Dafa books.
2. [Xiong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhai Ruie Arrested
In the afternoon of March 20, 2009, police from Mibei Village, Xiong County broke into the home of Ms. Zhai Ruie in Zhouzhuang Village and arrested her. Police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, printer, CDs, Falun Dafa books, and money belonging to Ms. Zhai's mother-in-law. Ms. Zhai is being detained at the Xiong County Police Station.
3. [Qianan City, Hebei Province] Qianan City Illegally Sentenced Six Practitioners
In late 2008, the Qianan City court sentenced six practitioners without due cause and imprisoned them in the Shijiazhuang City Prison. Ms. Li Anli was sentenced to 5 years, Ms. Liang Xiuqin 4 years, Ms. Duan Guiping 3 years, and Ms. Zhao Cuiyun 1 year.
4. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Suqing Arrested
Ms. Zhang Suqing was arrested on March 16, 2009 and her current situation is unknown.
5. [Huaiyang County, Henan Province] Mr. Zhu Decai Beaten into Vegetative State
Mr. Zhu Decai, 58, from Lidian Village, Tianqi Team, Xinzhan Town, Huaiyang County was arrested before the 2009 New Year. Police beat him into a vegetative state. He has not recovered, even though his family has spent 100,000 yuan for treatment.
6. [Puyang County, Henan Province] Mr. Li Caizhu Arrested
Mr. Li Caizhu, a practitioner from Jiaoerjai Village, Xinxi Village, was arrested on March 20 and his current situation is unknown.
7. [Xin Village, Henan Province] Mr. Guo Shijie Arrested
On March 15, 2009, someone reported Mr. Guo Shijie to police when he was making copies in a copy shop. Police from the Nanqiao Police Station arrested and detained him.
8. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Ling Arrested
On March 18, 2009, Ms. Chen Ling, a practitioner from Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, was arrested when she was distributing Shen Yun DVD's. Ms. Chen is being detained at the Futian Police Station.
9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Taisu Arrested
Police from Shibantan Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Taisu in early March when she was telling people about Falun Gong and the persecution.
10. [Linli County, Hunan Province] Ms. Jin Xinchun Arrested
On March 18, 2009, a group of people from the Linli County Political and Judiciary Committee, local public security, and the local radio and TV station arrested Ms. Jin Xinchun, a retiree from the Linli county radio and TV station. She is being detained at the police station.
11. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Su Defang Arrested and Tortured
On August 6, 2008, local police arrested Ms. Su Defang, a practitioner from Huayang, Shuangliu, Chengdu, at the shop where she works. She was taken to the Shuangliu Police Station in Chengdu, where she was tortured by a number of torture methods, including "carrying a sword on the back." Her husband was pressured into divorcing Ms. Su and took their daughter with him.

12. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Five Elderly Practitioners Arrested
In the morning of March 18, 2009, Ms. Li Yiju, Ms. Peng Gongzhi, Ms. Li Yazhi, Ms. Zhou Guiying, and Ms. Tang Xiangzhi, practitioners in their seventies from Chenzhou City, were stopped and searched by security guards near the Zhuyuan Hotel. When the guards discovered that they were Falun Gong practitioners, they arrested and detained them at the Chenzhou City Detention Center.
13. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Long Youshi Arrested
In the morning of March 19, 2009, police arrested Ms. Long Youshi, 50, a practitioner from Kaifu District, Changsha City, in the Changsha Lieshi Park. Ms. Long was detained for fifteen days.
14. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] 610 Office Agents Attempt to Arrest Teacher Wang Qin
On March 19, 2009, a group of people from the Qianan District 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and Tingsi Town Police Station went to the Changshou Elementary School in Tingsi Town and tried to arrest Ms. Wang Qin, who was teaching a class at the time. Fortunately, Ms. Wang was able to get away. They tried to arrest her because she had given some of her students a DVD of Shen Yun Performing Arts.
15. [Nenjiang County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zheng Xiaoqin Arrested
On March 12, 2009, Ms. Zheng Xiaoqin, a practitioner from Nenjiang County, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested on her way home from a trip to visit relatives. She is being detained at the Railroad Police Station in Qiqihaer.
16. [Beijing] Ms. Huang Shuhua Arrested
Ms. Huang Shuhua was arrested on the morning of March 6, 2009, at her home. She lives in the Yibinnan District, Shunyi County, Beijing. Her home was ransacked.
17. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Fengxian's Well-Being Uncertain
Ms. Chen Fengxian, 56, is a practitioner from Beijing. She was imprisoned in a forced labor camp in 2001 for ten months because she did not want to give up her belief. After her release, local police and the neighborhood office monitored her. Before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Ms. Chen was arrested and her whereabouts are unknown.
18. [Tianjin City] Mr. Liu Aibing and His Mother Arrested
At around 8 p.m. on March 15, 2009, police arrested Mr. Liu Aibing and his wife Ms. Chen Shufang in Baodi District, Tianjin, at their home. They also beat Mr. Liu.
The next day, Ms. Chen was released but police arrested Mr. Liu's elderly mother at her home. Police ransacked both homes and took several Falun Dafa books. Mr. Liu and his mother are still being detained at the Baodi District Police Station.

19. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yuexiang Arrested
In March 2009, police arrested Ms. Zhang Yuexiang and another female practitioner with the surname of Li, both from Jitai Town, Shouguang City. They are being detained at the Shouguang Police Station.
20. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Additional Information about Ms. Liu Lanying's Arrest
Police arrested Ms. Liu Lanying, 52, a worker at the Hanting Electric Cable Factory, at her home. When she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at a market on March 3, 2009, police followed her home. They ransacked her home and took some Falun Dafa books and truth clarification materials. Ms. Liu was detained at the Weifang Police Station and released on March 14 after police extorted 10,000 yuan from her family. Ms. Liu was then forced to leave her home in order to avoid further persecution. Her current situation is unknown.
21. [Zhucheng, Shandong Province] Ms. Sui Hongju Arrested
On March 19, 2009, police arrested Ms. Sui Hongju, a practitioner from Zhucheng, at a breakfast store. The police then ransacked her home.
22. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yingling Arrested
At around 9 a.m. on March 20, 2009, police arrested Ms. Zhang Yingling, a practitioner from the Gao District in Weihai City, when she was clarifying the truth at the market in Bijiatong. The police then ransacked her home.
23. [Qingtongxia City, Ningxia Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
On March 7, 2009, police arrested Mr. Wu Jinrong, a practitioner from Wuzhong City, Ningxia Province, when he was distributing truth clarification materials at Xiaoba Town, Qingtongxia City. He is being detained at the Qingtongxia City Police Station. Police also arrested Ms. Ma Guizhen, who was distributing truth clarification literature in Wuzhong City. She is being detained at the Wuzhong City Police Station.
In the evening of March 7th, police broke into the home of Ms. Wang Xueping in Qingtongxia City. They arrested Ms. Wang and ransacked her home. Mr. Gao Jianping's home was also ransacked and his whereabouts are unknown.

24. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wu Mingshan Arrested
In the afternoon of March 19, 2009, Mr. Wu Mingshan, a practitioner from Panzhihua City, was reported when he was distributing truth clarification materials in a village in Youxi Town, Xinhua County, Hunan Province. Mr. Wu was arrested and taken to the County Police Station.
25. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Lin Arrested
At around 4 p.m. on March 18, 2009, Ms. Chen Lin, a practitioner from Shenzhen City, was reported when she was distributing truth clarification materials at Luban Hall, Futian District, Shenzhen. Police arrested her and took her to the Futian Police Station.
26. [Beijing] Ms. He Wen Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor
At around 3 p.m. on February 26, 2009, a group of police from the Yuetan Police Station, Xicheng District, Beijing, and staff from the 610 Office and local residential committee broke into Ms. He Wen's home. They took her to the Qinghe Detention Center. On March 16, she was sentenced to three years of forced labor.
27. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Guixiang Arrested
On March 19, 2009, police from the Mengyin County 610 Office and Jushan Police Station arrested Mr. Li Guixiang. Mr. Li is a practitioner from Zhangjialou Village, Mengyin Township.
28. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dai Xicui Arrested
On March 15, 2009, Ms. Dai Xicui, a practitioner from Laixi City, went to the Zhougezhuang Police Station in Laixi City and tried to give some truth clarification materials to the police officers. She was arrested on the spot. Police then ransacked her home and took away books and Falun Dafa materials. Ms. Dai is being detained at the Laixi Police Station.
29. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lang Huiqin Arrested
Ms. Lang Huiqin, a practitioner from Weifang City, was reported when she was clarifying the truth. In the morning of March 15, 2009, plainclothes police arrested her at the Weifang Railroad Station. Police then ransacked her home and took away Falun Dafa books, payment cards, bank checks, cash, and other valuables items.
30. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Dou Jinxian Arrested
On March 19, 2009, police arrested Mr. Dou Jinxian, a practitioner from Linqu County, when he was distributing truth clarification materials.
31. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] About Twenty Practitioners Arrested
On March 17, 2009, a group pf people from the Mengyin County 610 Office broke into a cell phone store where practitioner Mr. Wang Yong works. They confiscated the key to Mr. Wang's home and his cell phone. Then they entered Mr. Wang's home and stole his computer. Ms. Wang was arrested. Around the same time, about twenty practitioners were also arrested.

32. [Dongxiang County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Wu Dexing Arrested in Beijing
Around February 25, 2009, Mr. Wu Dexing, a practitioner from Dongxiang, Jiangxi Province, went to Beijing for his new job. Police discovered Falun Dafa materials in his bag during a search, and they arrested Mr. Wu at the Beijing Airport. Mr. Wu has been taken back to Dongxiang County.
33. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Professor Ms. Deng Meizhen's Home Ransacked
Ms. Deng Meizhen was a professor at Hebei Normal University. At around noon on March 19, 2009, a dozen people, including Shijiazhuang City police and people from the Neighborhood Administration Office, ransacked Ms. Deng's home. They took a computer and a printer.
34. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Mr. Yang Mingzheng Arrested
Police from the Danyang Police Station in the Weibin District arrested Mr. Yang Mingzheng.
35. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Retired Worker Ms. Yao Guilan Arrested
On the afternoon of March 15, 2009, police from the Zhenxing Police Station, Xinglongtai District arrested Ms. Yao Guilan, a practitioner and a retired worker from the Gaosheng Oil Factory in Panjin City. She was taken to the Third Police Station.
Mr. Wang Kaiming, Ms. Yao's husband, was arrested on April 28, 2008 and sentenced to a four-year term.
