(Clearwisdom.net) On January 24, 2009, my 17-year-old son was hit by a taxi cab while we were crossing the street. The cab was moving very fast, and my son was thrown onto the hood of the cab, bounced into the air and landed in a snowdrift several meters away. The cab stopped, and the hood of the car was dented.
The cab driver, passengers in the cab and bystanders were all stunned by the accident. My son crawled out of the snowdrift, walked up to the cab driver and said, "Sorry I damaged your car." Seeing that my son seemed unharmed, the cab driver immediately said, "You have to pay for the damage." My son's grandmother and uncle heard about the accident and ran to the scene. His uncle was holding my son when he suddenly passed out. He slumped to the ground and lost consciousness. His grandmother started crying and calling his name. All the bystanders were also calling his name. After a while, my son regained consciousness and told his grandmother: "I'm OK. I just passed out." The bystanders told the cab driver: "How dare you ask the boy to pay for the damage? You should drive him to the hospital for an examination to see how he is doing."
I knew that my son would be all right. The doctors at the hospital checked him, and determined that he was well and didn't have any fractured bones. Meanwhile, the front of the cab was damaged; the front door could not be opened, and the cab's hood had a big dent. The four passengers in the car had minor injuries. This was a serious accident, yet my son escaped any harm. My family members knew that this miracle happened because of Dafa. Teacher protected my son. In their hearts, they all thanked Dafa and Teacher.
My son grew up during the time when Dafa was spreading all over China. Before the persecution started, I always brought him with me to group study and exercise. He studied the Fa with me and learned how to do the exercises. He eliminated many bad habits and followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance since he was very young. After the persecution started, I neglected to ask him to study the Fa and practice exercises with me, but he knows that Falun Dafa is good and often recites it to himself. He read a lot of truth-clarification materials and withdrew from the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) affiliated organizations. Because Teacher protected him, my son didn't suffer any harm in a serious car accident. My family members who used to be suspicious about Dafa's effect and power, especially my mother-in-law, completely changed their attitudes and truly believe that Dafa is good. They now have a deeper understanding of the old Chinese saying, "There are gods three feet above your head". This is so true - the divine beings record the good and bad deeds of everyone and protect those who are worthy. The whole family is thankful to Teacher and believes that quitting the CCP brings blessings. They all withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
Eighty-Year-Old Grandmother Benefits from Dafa
A fellow practitioner's mother-in-law is almost eighty years old. From the time that she learned that Falun Gong is good for people and about the persecution of practitioners, she's been quite healthy. She is thankful to Teacher and Dafa. Using her own words: "We can't just say that Falun Dafa is good. We should not just ask for Teacher's help. We need to to actively help Teacher save more people."
The practitioner used to be in poor health before she practiced Falun Gong. After she became a practitioner, she was very healthy. Her mother-in-law saw what happened to her and is thankful to Teacher and Dafa. She told the practitioner many times, "You need to commit your heart to Dafa." When the practitioner went to work, and other practitioners dropped off truth-clarification materials at her home, her mother-in-law would take the materials and store them carefully. Grandmother used to have health problems, including pulmonary emphysema. She benefited from Dafa, and her health improved. Now her face has a healthy glow. I had to leave my home to avoid the persecution. When grandmother found out about my situation, she gave me 50 yuan from her own living expenses to pay my phone bill and for drinking water. I didn't want to take her money, so she said: "Then use the money to make more truth-clarification materials to save people." In one year, grandmother donated 500 yuan to the truth clarification effort.
Grandmother also told me about her near-death experience. A year ago, she suffered another episode of pulmonary emphysema. She could not breathe and lost consciousness. She experienced a place where she saw many people from her village who had passed away previously. She ran into an elderly man, who was some kind of king. She knelt down in front of him and said, "Please take my life. I've had enough suffering." He refused to take her life and told her that she had not fulfilled all of her responsibilities. She said, " What do you mean I didn't fulfill my responsibilities? I raised all my children, and they are adults now." Then two people came and pulled her up. She was flying in the sky and returned home. At that moment, she woke up.
She knew that Teacher saved her and extended her life. Since that day, she tried very hard to save money for donating to the truth clarification effort. Just two days ago, grandmother gave me 200 yuan, which I used to buy paper and to print truth-clarification materials.
The practitioner asked her father to stay with her for several days in her home. Her father is over 80 years old. When her father came and saw how healthy grandmother was, he asked her, "How do you remain so healthy?" Grandmother said to him, "I'm healthy because Dafa's Teacher saved me and extended my life." She also told him how she saved money to give to the materials production site. The practitioner's father was moved by her story. He also gave his daughter 200 yuan and said, "I didn't bring much money with me. The 200 yuan is just a little gesture of my respect for Dafa and your Teacher." The two elderly people reminded each other to frequently recite "Falun Dafa is good, and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good." After the practitioner's father went back home, he was able to ride a tricycle to the farmer's market by himself. All three generations of his family members, including government officials, teachers, and college students, all withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
