(Clearwisdom.net) I obtained the Fa in 1998. I experienced the feeling of having no illnesses, and was touched by the profound Fa principles. When my divine side is at work, I can do well when encountering tribulations. When I am lost in the human world, I don't do well.
Having practiced for ten years, I believe "enlightenment" is most important for a practitioner. We need to look inwards and cultivate solidly. We must summon our righteous thoughts instead of human thoughts at all times. That is thinking from the perspective of the Fa and considering the needs of Fa-rectification. For example, when the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, many who practiced well before could not let go of human attachments. They acted as ordinary people just because they have kept their human attachments. Some interpreted "conforming to ordinary human society" incorrectly. They did not dare to go to Beijing to safeguard the Fa, and believed it wouldn't conform to ordinary human society if they did so. As practitioners, we should always remember, "it is extremely dangerous to add anything human to cultivation practice. " ("Digging Out the Roots " from Essentials for Further Advancement ). Just one human notion can destroy us.
When I was released from a labor camp for the second time, it felt very difficult to persuade people to quit the CCP and its related organizations. No one wanted to listen to me. Even my family members thought I was getting myself entangled in politics. I know that anything Master asks us to do won't be wrong. If it's needed for Fa-rectification, then as a practitioner in the period of Fa-rectification, I need to do it. But what was I to do when no one listened to me? I knew I was stuck, but I needed to move forward as a practitioner in Fa-rectification. Since Master asked us to do it, it must be achievable. Any tribulation arranged by Master can be resolved, unless we do not want to have it resolved. I knew I must have had an inadequate understanding of this, so I spent quite some time studying the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" and Disintegrate Party Culture. Through studying, I understood that the CCP is the evil spirit in China and the whole world, and it will destroy sentient beings. As practitioners, we should save sentient beings.
When I corrected my understanding, I was not afraid of being labeled as political. I explained everything openly when someone had a misunderstanding. It's quite effective when we have a pure heart to save sentient beings. I use any opportunity to clarify the truth. Over time, most of my family members have quit the CCP.
Cultivation is hard. Since we are among everyday people, our human attachments will mislead us and get us lost. Then we won't be able to focus on the three things. After a while I again felt I had a hard time bringing up the topic to persuade people to withdraw from the CCP. I had regrets after those people left. For some time, I was afraid to go out and did not meet anyone. I knew this was very dangerous, but I felt helpless.
One day I received a phone call asking me to buy insurance. Usually I dislike this kind of call, but there are no coincidences. Maybe it was an opportunity provided by Master. I should try no matter what, and this gave me courage again. In the end I talked to several predestined people, and helped them to withdraw from the CCP. The "coincidence" made me realize Master's omnipotence and compassion for disciples. There are no accidents for practitioners; we need to enlighten to the Fa and follow the natural course.
When I was not doing well, it was caused by human attachments of trying to achieve something. I thought to myself, "This person is easy to persuade, that one not. This person has high social status; what if I am rejected?" When I calmed down, I found deeply hidden jealousy, and many notions and attachments. I had slacked off for a long time and I didn't handle myself as a practitioner.
Later I realized that persuading people to withdraw from the CCP is saving sentient beings and getting rid of our human attachments so that we may cultivate solidly. Master said in Zhuan Falun:
"After the instruction, the master will again tell it: 'You still have many attachments to remove. You should go out to wander about.' Wandering around in society is rather torturous. It must beg for food and meet different kinds of people who will scold, insult, or take advantage of it. It might encounter all kinds of things. It will treat itself as a practitioner and balance well relations with others, always maintaining and upgrading xinxing. It will not be moved by the temptations of different benefits among everyday people."
We need to truly let go of human attachments. Following Dafa's requirements, we need to become true divine beings. Let us cultivate diligently together!
