(Clearwisdom.net) Guards in Baimiao Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, tortured practitioner Mr. Bai Hongyuan, causing memory loss and paralysis. The guards tortured him to the brink of death and then, on January 6, 2009, they forced his family to take him home.

On November 11, 2008, Mr. Bai was arrested on his way to work by police from the Domestic Security Division of the Jinshui District, Zhengzhou City. He was first taken to the Shakoulu Detention Center and later to Baimiao Forced Labor Camp.

In the camp, Mr. Bai refused to wear the prison uniform or eat the prison food. [Note: Because Falun Gong practitioners have committed no crime and should not be incarcerated, they sometimes protest their persecution and illegal detention by refusing to wear the prison uniform or answer roll call. Some protest by going on hunger strikes.] The Second Ward guards tortured him, using brutal force-feeding and shocking him with at least eight electric batons. Mr. Bai fainted from the torture. He was injected with unknown drugs, and tubes were inserted into him. He was barely alive when the guards took him to the Provincial Chinese Medicine Hospital. At that point they notified his family to pick him up from the hospital.

Mr. Bai's family rushed to the hospital and saw that he was barely breathing, yet the hospital personnel insisted that they take him home. The family left all the tubes in Mr. Bai, including a long needle that was inserted into his collarbone. They feared that he would die before leaving the emergency room. The guards of Baimiao Forced Labor Camp demanded that his family sign a guarantee but they refused.

Mr. Bai was barely breathing when his family took him home. After a few days he awoke to discover that he was paralyzed. He had lost control of his bodily functions and suffered loss of memory. His body was covered in bruises, and his feet had painful blisters from electric shocks. He vomited blood and cried out in pain.

Under the care of his family and Teacher's protection, Mr. Bai's memory is slowly returning. At times his mind is clear and he recognizes his family, and he can talk slowly. He still remembers that the guards shocked him until the electric baton ran out of power and at that point someone went upstairs and borrowed another electric baton to continue the torture.

Tao Wenyao, member of the Domestic Security Division in the Jinshui District, Zhengzhou City, is largely responsible for the persecution of Bai Hongyuan.
