Pleasant afternoon sunshine attracted many residents and visitors to the city center plaza. Representatives from the Quit the CCP Service Center, The Epoch Times Newspaper, the CIPFG, and the Falun Dafa Association of Victoria Province, plus former Olympic swimmer Ms. Jan Becker and a Falun Dafa practitioner from Mainland China spoke at the rally. The Divine Land Marching Band performed and many came to watch.

Ms. Sun, a representative of the Quit CCP Service Center of Melbourne, said that history has "never sided with atrocities so history will not side with the CCP. 50 million Chinese people withdrawing from CCP and its affiliated organizations is an omen. When more Chinese people join the wave to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations, history is coming to a time to eliminate the CCP and punish it for its tyranny."

Among those in attendance was Christina, now from Canada but originally from Poland. She suffered under Communist tyranny for many years before immigrating to Canada. She took a lot of photos of the rally. She said she could not forget the misery that the evil of Communism caused her people. She supports activities like this and hopes the autocracy will end soon.

Kate is a member of Amnesty International and works in the government in Melbourne. She signed her name on the petition. Kate said she was aware of the persecution of Falun Gong in China and often sees practitioners "clarifying truth" in front of the Chinese Embassy and protesting outside of the House of Parliament. As for 50 million Chinese that have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations, she said everyone should have freedom of expression but that is not allowed in China. In the end she used one word, "courageous," to describe what she thought about those that have quit the CCP.

Matthew Wright is a landscape gardener. When a friend told him about the event, he decided to come. A loyal reader of The Epoch Times newspaper, he said the newspaper is rich in content and information. He said the CCP persecutes Chinese people because it is greedy and selfish and thought that attending the rally was the best way for him to show support for those that have quit it.
