(Clearwisdom.net) In July 2007, Ms. Song Xiaotang, a practitioner from Shangkuang Village, Tianheng Town, Jimo City, Shandong Province, was arrested at her home and taken to the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City. She has been subjected to long periods of cruel torture and suffered from generalized edema. Additionally, her abdomen is swollen and her hands continue to shake violently.

The arrest of Ms. Song was plotted by Wang Changliang, director of the Social Stability Office of Tianheng Town, Jimo City, Shandong City. On June 4, 2007, he and two others, Wu Shijun, director of the Tianheng Police Station, and Liu Chunmiao, an officer from the Tianheng Police Station, broke into Ms. Song's home. Once inside, they arrested her and forced her into a police car. They showed no official papers and gave no reason for the arrest.

When she was held in the First Detention Center, Ms. Song went on a hunger strike for about twenty days to protest the persecution inflicted on her. Seeing that she was is critical condition, detention center officials decided to release her because they were afraid that she might die while under their supervision. However, Tianheng Police Station officials refused to take her home. Instead, they called some doctors from the Tianheng Hospital, who, along with the Jimo City's 610 Office, falsified court documents to "prove" that Ms. Song had been convicted. They were therefore able to take her to the labor camp. Because the sentencing document was completely fabricated, Tianheng Police Station didn't dare send it to her family.

Ms. Song was subjected to cruel torture in the forced labor camp. The police shackled her limbs to a so called "dead man bed" and stuck tubes of the diameter of chopsticks into her nose and taped her mouth shut. Guard Huang Bo, who weighed about 145 lbs, repeatedly pounded Ms. Song's stomach by jumping backward and landing in a seated position. Guard Yan Yan also pounded the entire length of Ms Song's legs using a similar seated method and traversed up and down Ms. Songs legs. Ms. Song was in pain so intense that it felt like her organs were being ripped out of her. Every time the guards tried to force feed her, they were deliberately rough, causing her nose to bleed every time they tried to insert the tube. To cause additional suffering, they left the tube in her nose for long periods of time.

On the 2008 Chinese New Year , in the cold of winter, Wang Huiying, head of the Fourth Group, along with guard Li Ying, hung Ms. Song on the window by her handcuffs, opened all of the windows and doors, and poured water on the ground to intensify the cold. Previously, Ms. Song had sustained a head injury in a traffic accident. Knowing about her injury, the guards exacerbated it by violently hitting her head against the wall while she was strung up.

Due to the long period of cruel torture, Ms. Song's entire body became swollen with edema. Her abdomen is swollen and her hands shake violently. In addition, she suffers from hypertension and heart disease. Despite these conditions, the labor camp still forces her to work. Her family has requested that the labor camp release her, but the camp responds, "She will be released if your local police station wants her to be released." They used this excuse because they know that the police station will never agree.
