County Executive Kathleen M. Falk.

MADISON, Wis.--A beautiful lake-side city with a rich history of diverse cultures and artistic backgrounds will host Divine Performing Arts (DPA) at the Overture Center for the Arts on February 12. Many wish the performance well and offer their greetings.

Part of the greeting offered by Wisconsin Senate President Fred Risser:

"On Feb. 12, 2009, the Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular will be held at the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, Wisconsin; this event promises to be a rich, meaningful, and unforgettable cultural event showcasing China's classical heritage. The mission of Divine Performing Arts is to rediscover and present the essence of the true, traditional culture, and to bring art to the world that celebrates human dignity and positives. The Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular is a great vehicle with which to promote art and culture in the form of performing arts and foster understanding between Chinese and Western cultures and provide an opportunity for Chinese communities worldwide to connect with Western culture. Therefore, the members of the Wisconsin Senate, on the motion of Senate President Fred Risser, do commend the Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular on the occasion of its festivities in Madison, Wisconsin, on February 12, 2009."

Congratulations were offered by County Executive Kathleen M. Falk:

Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin also delightedly welcomed Divine Performing Arts to Wisconsin:

"Whereas, the mission of Divine Performing Arts is to rediscover and present the essence of the true, traditional culture and to bring art to the world that celebrates human dignity and positives; and whereas, Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular is a multicultural holiday celebration that connects people around the world of different cultures and background and is a platform to unite and build bridges between cultures; and now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor of the City of Madison, Wisconsin, does hereby proclaim the week of February 9-15, 2009 as 'Divine Performing Arts Week.'
