(Clearwisdom.net) During the October 1 national holiday season, personnel from the National Security Division in Harbin City arrested Dafa practitioner Xie Chunlan, from Harbin, who was submitting her household registration in the Xiangfang District Police Department. Ms. Xie's family members refuse to be intimidated by the threats from CCP and they decided to hire a human rights lawyer from Beijing to defend Ms. Xie in court.

Ms. Xie Chunlan is 46 years old. She had many illnesses previously. After she began practicing Falun Gong, all her illnesses disappeared. This made her a firm believer in Falun Gong.
On September 26, 2009, Ms. Xie Chunlan went to the Port of Entry Authority of Harbin to inquire about a passport application for her work needs. She was told that she needed to get a proof of residence from her local police station. That same day Ms. Xie Chunlan went to the Xiangfang District Police Department to request a proof of residence. The personnel told her that it couldn't be processed during the weekend, so she had to wait till Monday. The next Monday, after 8 a.m. on September 29, when Ms. Xie Chunlan was arriving at the Xiangfang District Police Department for the proof of residence (details are under investigation), she was arrested and illegally detained by the personnel from the National Security Division in Xiangfang District until 1 p.m. that day. Ms. Xie Chunlan has been detained in the Yaziquan Detention Center without any legal procedure.
The family members of Ms. Xie didn't know where she was, so they went to the Police Department to ask about Ms. Xie's whereabouts. They were informed by the personnel from the Police Department that because Ms. Xie Chunlan practices Falun Gong and was trying to apply for a passport during the October 1 national holiday season, the police detained her according to the so- called "order from the supervisor." Ms. Xie's family members requested Ms. Xie's release but got no results. They had to wait until the national holiday season was over. However, more than one month after October 1, Ms. Xie Chunlan is still detained in the Yaziquan Detention Center.
The family members of Ms. Xie went to the Xiangfang District Police Department many times to request Ms. Xie's release during this period. However, Wang Jianbin, the team leader of the National Security Division in the Xiangfang District Police Department, and team leader Yuan refused their request. They even claimed that they planned to heavily sentence Ms. Xie.
The family members of Ms. Xie see clearly through the evil nature of the CCP from the CCP's countless lies and they are now more awakened and not afraid of the authorities' threats anymore. They decided to hire a human rights lawyer from Beijing to defend Ms. Xie in court until she is released unconditionally.
