(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 11 provinces. As per this report, 27 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Man Qiuju Left Home to Avoid Persecution
Chaoyang District North Community Party Committee head Zhang Haixia went to collect a sanitation fee at Ms. Man Qiuju's rented residence on December 5, 2009. Ms. Man spoke with her about Falun Gong and the persecution. Official Zhang pretended to agree that Ms. Man helped her to quit the CCP's Youth League and Young Pioneers organizations, but she later reported Ms. Man to the Chaoyang District Police Department.
Zhang, about six officers from the Chaoyang District Police Department, and Dongchaoyang Street Police Station chief Zhang went to Ms. Man's home at dusk on December 7, 2009. They arrested Ms. Man, and ransacked her home. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a picture of Master, a notebook computer, a CD burner, and over 4,000 yuan in cash, then transported Ms. Man to the Dongchaoyang Police Station. She was able to get away with the power of her righteous thoughts at about 11:00 p.m. The police went to harass her at home the next day and attempted to arrest her again. Ms. Man decided to leave home to avoid further persecution.
2. [Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Shi Zongpei, in Her 80s, Arrested
Ms. Shi Zongpei from Chuxiong City went to the city 610 Office on December 12, 2009 to demand the immediate release of practitioners Mr. Dong Guozhao and Ms. Liao Liqing. She was arrested on her way home. Five riot police officers forcibly opened the door of her home and then ransacked the place. Ms. Shi is now held in the Chuxiong City Detention Center.

3. [Hebei Province] Hebei Women's Forced Labor Camp Arbitrarily Extends Detention Terms of Practitioners
Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp officials refuse to release steadfast practitioners after their terms have expired. The following practitioners (among others) had their terms extended: Ms. Zhang Yinli and Ms. Bai Yuntao from Wanquan County, Zhangjiakou City; and Ms. Tang Zhijie from Shunping, Baoding City.
4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Haiyan Subjected to One Year of Forced Labor
Ms. Zhang Haiyang from the Economic and Technology Development District is now held at the Kailu County Detention Center in Tongliao City. Kailu County Police Department authorities subjected her to one year of forced labor.
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Chaozhen Arrested
Ms. Li Chaozhen, who lives near the Chengdu Air Harbor, distributed information about Falun Gong on the morning of December 11, 2009 at the Gaoxin District Shopping Mall. Sanwayao Police Station officers arrested her and ransacked her home that same day. Ms. Li is now held at the Chengdu City Police Department's Detention Center.
6. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Ms. Xu Hongxiang
Lushuihe Town Police Department officers arrested Ms. Xu Hongxiang from Lushuihe Town, Fusong County. Beishan Neighborhood Committee head Yu Anmei and Ms. Xu's neighbor Niu Xiaolei had reported her.
7. [Chongqing] Ms. Deng Yiquan and Ms. Xiao Shuchao Given Prison Terms
Ms. Deng Yiquan, in her 60s, is a retiree from the Sanjiang Smelting Factory of the Chongqing Iron & Steel Group. Qijiang County Police Department officer Luo Jun and others arrested her in August 2008 and held her in the Qijiang County Detention Center. She was sentenced to three years in prison in November 2009 and is now held at the Chongqing Women's Prison in Zouma Town, Jiulongpo District.
Ms. Xiao Shuchao is a retiree from the Sanjiang No. 4 Factory of the Chongqing Iron & Steel Group. Qijiang County Police Department officers arrested her at home in September 2009 and took her to the Wansheng District Prison, where she was held until November. She was then sentenced to three years in prison and is now held in the Chongqing Women's Prison in Zouma Town, the Jiulongpo District.
8. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Zhucheng City Court Tried Mr. Li Liang, Ms. Liu Peizhi and Mr. Zhao Chongsen on December 12, 2009
9. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Shengguang Arrested on December 11, 2009
10. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuhong Persecuted
Ms. Zhang Xiuhong, a villager from Zhangjiabu Village, Bukou Harbor, was held for over two weeks at the Wendeng City Detention Center. Wendeng City Police Department officials and 610 Office agents subjected her to one year of forced labor. She was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City on December 2, 2009.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guiling Harassed at Home
Four officers from the Zhanqian Police Station in the Jinzhou District harassed Ms. Sun Guiling at home for eight hours, beginning at noon on November 31, 2009. They did not set her free until they extorted 3,000 yuan from her husband.
A week later, on the morning of December 8, 2009, four other officers went to Ms. Sun Guiling's home with a video camera. They ransacked her home and videotaped the whole process but found nothing they wanted.
12. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Yongqiang Arrested
Mr. Wang Yongqiang from the Jinzhou District was arrested on December 11, 2009 while working at the Dayaowan Container Ports Corporation.
13. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Xinyu and His Wife Ms. Han Yiming Scheduled to Stand Trial at the Bao'an Court on December 16, 2009
14. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Mr. Yang Yunsheng Arrested
Tiepo police officers attempted to arrest Mr. Yang Yunsheng many times in 2008. They took Mr. Yang into custody one day in May 2009 when he was shipping timber. Participating in the arrest were Tiepo Police Station chief Zhou Yubo and Hou Changlin and others from Jinxi Township. They also confiscated Mr. Yang's motorcycle, worth 5,000 yuan. Mr. Yang was able to escape that same day, and decided to go into exile.
Zhou Yubo led a group of people once again and arrested Mr. Yang on December 9, 2009 and took him to a detention center. They confiscated his new motorcycle and extorted 1,000 yuan from him.

15. [Botou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shi Fuling Persecuted
Ms. Shi Fuling, employed by the Botou City Food Production Factory, was arrested at home in 2006. State Security Division Head Zhao Dongsheng and officers from the Dikouwang Police Station took her to the station, where they stripped off her clothes to her waist and tortured her. Later, they sent her to a detention center for over a month and extorted over 10,000 yuan from her family. Ms. Shi returned home but was delirious. She went missing on November 10, 2009. Her family looked for her everywhere but has not heard from her.
16. [Jilin Province] Officers of Changchun City Yihe Street Police Station Persecute Practitioners
Zhai Changsen from the Yihe Street Police Station arrested Ms. Zhang Jian, Ms. Fu Lina and other practitioners who worked in a Changchun City bank in March 2003. Ms. Zhang was sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp.
That same day, a young teacher from Jilin University was seen in custody in the Yihe Street Police Station. She was in a coma when she was sent for a physical exam at the Chaoyang District Hospital. Two officers from the police station held her arms and dragged her out of the hospital and into a police van. They then dragged her from the van down to the ground and continued dragging her to the police station. She was sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp the next day.
Mr. Chen Chengyuan, a PhD holder who had been away from home to avoid persecution, went to visit his practitioner wife, who was held in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in the spring of 2005. Staked-out Yihe Street Police Station officers arrested him and took him to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term.
Mr. Fan Minxiang from the Changchun University of Technology attempted to go downstairs to leave for work one morning in May 2008. Yihe Street Police Station chief Zhai Changsen and a group of officers who were staked out downstairs arrested Mr. Fan and ransacked his home. They sent him to the Weizigou Detention Center and intended to sentence him to one year of forced labor. Mr. Fan showed symptoms of high blood pressure and heart disease during his detention and was sent to a hospital for medical treatment. The police extorted 20,000 yuan from Mr. Fan's friend who went to visit him in the hospital. Mr. Fan was able to escape from the hospital and decided to stay away from home to avoid the persecution.
17. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qu Yuexiang Subjected to Forced Labor
Mr. Qu Yuexiang from Beimeng Town was sent to the Zhangqiu Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term.
Ms. Li Wenxiu from Nanmeng Village, Beimeng Town is held in the same labor camp.
18. [Taicang, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Xu Fuming Given a Four-Year Prison Term on November 4, 2009 for Speaking with People about Falun Gong and the Persecution
19. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Wang Li and Others
Ms. Wang Li, Ms. Liu Guijie and Mr. Shi Shuhong from Daling Town were reported as they spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution on the afternoon of December 4, 2009. Domestic Security Division agents arrested and took them to the Gongzhuling City Detention Center. Ms. Wang and Ms. Liu are holding a hunger strike to resist the persecution. Ms. Liu's restaurant has been closed.
20. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Mr. Wu Changgui
Harbin Railway Police Department Domestic Security Division officers arrested Mr. Wu Changgui from Sheli Township, Acheng District on the morning of November 28, 2009. He was held in the Harbin City Railway Detention Center. Mr. Wu's family went to the Harbin Police Department Domestic Security Division on December 8 to demand his release, but was turned away.

21. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Shuhua Arrested
Zhao Yanhai and three others from the Qian'an County Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Sun Shuhua's home, arresting her and ransacking the place. They took Ms. Sun to the Qian'an County Detention Center.

22. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Zicheng Held at the Pinggu District Detention Center
Mr. Wang Zicheng, employed by the Pinggu District Panfeng Hotel, was fired from his job at the end of 2000 for practicing Falun Gong. He was given a five-year prison term in 2003 for distributing information about Falun Gong and held in Qianjin Prison in Beijing. He returned home in October 2008 but was reported and arrested at the end of November 2009 for distributing information about Falun Gong. His captors took the key to his home and ransacked it, taking a CPU, a notebook computer, a printer, 500 yuan in cash and other items. Mr. Wang was sent to the Pinggu Detention Center on November 30, 2009.

23. [Tongcheng County, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Aihua Detained
Ms. Huang Aihua from Junshui Town was reported as she spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution in Tanghu Town on December 6, 2009. Tanghu Town Police Station officers arrested her. She is now held in the county's No.1 Detention Center.
24. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Yuqin Missing
Ms. Wang Yuqin, 48, went missing on December 9, 2009 near the Yueya River, Wuzui Village, at the junction of the Dongli District and Hedong District.
25. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Jingjing Arrested
Officers from the Fengtai Police Department in Beijing arrested Ms. Lu Jingjing from Huailai County three days ago [around December 10, 2009].
26. [Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Xizhong and Mr. Jiang Haibo Given Prison Terms
Mr. Zhang Xizhong, about 60 years old, from Shangcai County, Zhumadian City, was sentenced to three years in prison and held in the Henan Prison. His family went to visit him once in the first half of this year. When they went to visit him once again in December, prison officials told them, "He is not here."
Mr. Jiang Haibo, about 30 years old, is from Jiaozuo City. He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2008, shortly after his father, who had been persecuted, returned home. Mr. Jiang is now at the Henan Prison.
