(Clearwisdom.net) Below are persecution accounts that happened to several practitioners in Wutongqiao District of Leshan City, Sichuan Province in 2008. All of them are currently detained at Longquanyi Prison in Chengdu City.
On the evening of May 12, 2008, two practitioners from Yangliu Town of Wutongqiao District were posting truth-clarification posters in a neighboring county, Jianwei County. They were Ms. Chen Guifang (58 years old) and Ms. Lei Huirong (in her 50's), who live in the countryside. Jianwei County police arrested and detained them for more than six months at the detention center. The police extorted 20,000 Yuan from each family and sentenced them to four years, with a temporary suspension of two years. This placed severe financial and mental burdens upon these two families. Ms. Chen Guifang, a widow whose husband died in 1988, had no choice but to leave town with her son to find a job. After a divorce, Ms. Lei Huirong had no place to stay.
On July 29, 2008, twelve people broke into the home of Ms. Wang Xiuyun, a 62-year-old retired employee from the Industrial and Commercial Bank in Wutongqiao District. These people included Yao Jijun, Head of the Niuhua Town Police Station; Chai Yongqin, Deputy Head; Chen Zhu, Political Head; He Xuegang, as well as other police and government officers. They took away personal belongings valued at tens of thousands of Yuan, along with a computer and Falun Gong books. They arrested Ms. Wang Xiuyun and her husband, and detained them at Wutongqiao Detention Center. Her husband was released after 25 days. After being detained for nearly half a year, Ms. Wang Xiuyun was sentenced to 4 years. She was then secretly sent to Longquanyi in Chengdu City. When Ms. Wang Xiuyun was detained at Wutongqiao Detention Center, no family member was allowed to visit her. After she was sentenced, her family was notified to visit her.
Ms. Li Zhongfang is a 72-year-old practitioner. The local police arrested her when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on May 30, 2008. Later, the Wutongqiao Court sentenced her to two years.
Ms. Jiang Xiulan, a retiree from Panzhihua Steel Plant, is in her 50's. The 610 Office of Panzhihua City and Panzhihua Steel Plant used the retiree annual review as an excuse to deceive her into going to the Liyuan Hotel in Wutongqiao District. Later, the Wutongqiao Court sentenced her to 4 years.
Ms. Gong Dexiang is 63 years old. When she was distributing truth-clarification materials on the street on October 7, 2008, someone reported her to the police. The police arrested her, and the Wutongqiao Court later sentenced her to three and a half years.
Ms. Yi Zhimei is in her 60's. When she was distributing Falun Gong materials on the street on July 25, 2008, someone reported her to the police. The police arrested her, and the Wutongqiao Court later sentenced her to three years.
These practitioners are currently detained at Longquanyi Prison in Chengdu City.
