(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhou Xiaohua is in her late 60s. She lives in the Mianyang City Communist Party Committee compound. Her husband used to work for the Party Committee before retirement, and she worked in the hostel before she retired. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, and all her illnesses disappeared. Her three daughters have married and moved to the United States. Although her daughters have invited her to immigrate to the US and she has many times applied for a passport, the authorities refuse to accommodate her because she practices Falun Gong.

In early December 2007, Mianyang City police once again arrested Ms. Zhou. While in detention, her daughters returned from overseas to see her, but the police refused to let any of them visit their mother. A show trial was held more than ten months later, and the authorities sentenced her to seven years in prison.

Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities have ransacked Ms. Zhou's home. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong because she had benefited so much from the practice, but was arrested before she got there and held in a local detention center for a time. Following her release, CCP personnel often harassed her.
