Clearwisdom Weekly Persecution News - December 16 ~ 21, 2008
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lu Yaobin has to stay away from home to avoid another arrest, while his wife is still bedridden in the detention center due to mistreatment. With all of savings confiscated by the police, their two young daughters are left at home and unable to go to school.
Due to posting "Falun Dafa is Good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good" signs, Mr. Lin Huiguo was sentenced to three years in prison. His wife fainted after hearing the news, while she was still recovering from injuries caused by tortures in jail.
After long imprisonment and torture, Mr. Han is dying in a hospital but his family still has not been able to obtain a medical release.
Mr. Kang has not received proper medical attention for injuries suffered during his arrest.
The official claim of 'suicide' does not make sense given the facts. Ms. Cao's family wants an investigation of the cause of her death.
Mr. Niu Jiming, a disabled person who operates a tricycle 'taxi' to transport people, has been arrested and imprisoned just for transporting practitioners who were carrying Dafa materials. He has not received proper care for his disability while imprisoned.
Because of going on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, Mr. Zhang Litan was beaten to death by guards and inmates on November 17, 2008, just one month after being imprisoned in Jinzhou City Prison.
Clearwisdom.net and its Chinese-language sister-website (minghui.ca) provide first-hand reports about the horrors of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Dozens of reports are received every day from the victims of torture, the wrongfully imprisoned, and families crippled by the senseless hardship and grief for their loved ones imposed by the persecution. In contrast, the websites also report positive news and events from the more than 80 countries around the world where Falun Gong is practiced, and serve as an online forum for practitioners to share stories of the good things Falun Gong has brought to their lives.
