(Clearwisdom.net) On January 14, the Mayor and the city council of Newark, NJ, issued a proclamation to the Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular.

In his letter, Mayor Cory Booker welcomed DPA to Newark. On behalf of the city council, Ms. Mildred Crump issued and read the proclamation.

The Newark Municipal Council Hereby Issues This Resolution
Commemorating Chinese New Year Spectacular
Whereas, the Chinese New Year Spectacular performance draws inspiration from the legends, values and spirit that defined traditional Chinese culture for centuries before its erosion under decades of communist rule; and
Whereas, the Chinese New Year Spectacular renews a cultural tradition built on the foundation of timeless virtues and human dignity by evoking through its performance the themes of virtue, compassion and courage that lie at the heart of China's divinely inspired culture; and
Whereas, the Chinese New Year Spectacular performance, produced by Divine Performing Arts, presented by New Tang Dynasty TV and sponsored by the New Jersey Falun Dafa Association is embarked on a 20 nation tour; and
Whereas, the year 4706, the year of the Ox in the Chinese calendar, begins on January 26, 2009; and
Whereas, the Chinese New Year Spectacular will be performed at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center from January 26, 27, 2009.
Now Therefore, be it resolved, the Newark Municipal Council Does Hereby Commend the Divine Performing Arts and New Tang Dynasty TV and wishes them and everyone attending the Chinese New Year Spectacular a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
