(Clearwisdom.net) A Falun Dafa experience sharing conference was successfully held on December 7, 2008, in the northern Malay city of Kompleks Tabung Haji. Many practitioners discussed how they exposed the Chinese Communist Party's crimes to Mainland Chinese tourists and advised them to withdraw from the Party.

Explaining the facts in Merdeka Square

Merdeka Square, or Independence Square, a tourist spot, is also where annual National Holiday celebrations are held.

One afternoon a Falun Gong practitioner put up exhibition boards and began talking to visitors. A police car pulled up beside her right after she finished speaking to a bus load of tourists. She recalls, "Two police officers got out of the car and walked toward me. They looked at the boards. I don't speak the local dialect, so I pointed at the boards with pictures and illustrations and said to them, "Falun Gong is good, Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is good." I made a thumbs-up gesture at a picture showing Falun Gong practitioners doing the group exercises, and they nodded in agreement."

Another day a bus full of Chinese tourists arrived at the square. A practitioner approached one tourist, who said, "Do you know who I am? I am a Chinese police officer." The practitioner smiled and said, "So? I want to talk to Chinese police." She gave him a brochure and explained, "I practice Falun Gong and follow the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. This is a wonderful practice and has incredible healing powers. It teaches people to be good and improves their moral character. It is now practiced in more than 80 countries around the world. To demonize Falun Gong, the Chinese Communist regime staged the self-immolation in Beijing in 2001." She also mentioned the Cultural Revolution, a movement during which traditional Chinese culture was destroyed. In the end, she asked him to quit the Party. He listened attentively throughout the entire time and nodded, saying, "Ok, I will renounce my [Party membership]."

Another time, Chinese tourists were taking pictures when a practitioner approached them. She greeted them saying, "Hello, please remember 'Falun Dafa is good,' 'Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is good,' and you will have a bright future. Will you remember that?" One woman smiled, and another woman in her 50s answered in a firm voice, "Yes, I will remember!"

When a practitioner handed a flyer to a Chinese tourist he took a look at it and exclaimed, "Falun Gong? Wow! Falun Gong is amazing!"

The practitioners learned in early 2008 that Masanjia Forced Labor Camp guards, known for their horrific abuses of Falun Gong practitioners, were coming to visit Malaysia. One practitioner downloaded and printed pictures of Masanjia guards from the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom) so that everyone would recognize them. Practitioners who often went to Independence Square carried copies of the pictures with them. One morning a practitioner spotted a tourist exiting a bus who was one of the guards. She brought it to the attention of other practitioners. Together they held up placards and distributed flyers while other practitioners talked to the guards.

When the guards heard the words "labor camp" they swarmed around the practitioners and almost simultaneously began filming and photographing the placards. Some of them eventually agreed to quit the Party.

Helping people in Melaka

Melaka is Malaysia's most ancient city and sees a steady stream of tourists all year round. Most visitors would look at the exhibition boards and politely take a flyer, but many Chinese tourists refused to believe the facts because they go against existing notions, so the practitioners kindly said to them, "We are all Chinese, and lots of Chinese people are reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to learn about the evil nature of the Party. Do not let the Party and its lies poison our minds any longer."

The tourists would listen as they walked around. A few would nod and smile. A few brave ones would snatch a flyer and quickly put it inside their bags. Some wanted to read but dared not, so the practitioners tried to encourage them, saying, "The Chinese Communist regime's six-decade rule is a history of killing. Think about the Cultural Revolution, the Tiananmen Massacre, and the persecution of Falun Gong. Love for China is not love for the Party."

Dispelling misconceptions among Chinese Malaysians

The practitioners often spoke to local Chinese immigrants. It was easy to communicate with them because there was no language barrier. The practitioners discovered that Chinese Malaysians were also deeply deceived by Chinese Communist Party's propaganda. Because they had not experienced decades of political campaigns and had, to a large extent, maintained a few traditional beliefs, such as goodness is rewarded and evildoing is punished, and several were lay Buddhists or Taoists, they sought out the practitioners out of curiosity.

A practitioner said during the Falun Dafa conference, "One accusation most often heard was, 'You are attacking China, you are meddling in politics.' I guess many of us have encountered similar things. If this happened I would ask the person, 'Do you think the MCA Party represents Malaysia? So how can the CCP represent China? The CCP has been in power for only 58 years, and the Chinese people have a history of five millennia; how can those two things equal one another? The CCP has murdered courageous and honest people throughout many years and has brainwashed Chinese people with atheism, making people not believe in karma or retribution. They will do anything for money. The reason human beings are different from animals is because we have a soul and a conscience, and behavioral standards. Failing to act appropriately places us in a dangerous position; conscience is important."

After several years of persistent effort, people's attitudes [at tourist attractions and among the locals] toward practitioners has undergone obvious and tremendous changes. At the popular tourist sites, the police, cab drivers and elderly locals who take daily strolls now smile and nod at practitioners. Chinese Malaysians, especially those who never miss a single edition of the Epoch Times, encourage the practitioners, saying, "You folks must work hard!" Since learning about the brutal persecution of Falun Gong during the past nine years, some Chinese people have shed tears, and some gave the thumbs-up sign and praise the practitioners for their selfless sacrifice. A few have donated money, and others have bought dessert and lunch for practitioners. The police wave at the practitioners as they drive by. One police officer called Falun Gong practitioners, "Rare, good people that are one in a million."
