Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 29 cities or counties in 12 provinces. 11 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least 46 practitioners were arrested.

1. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Huang Gang Persecuted in Shenyang Prison

Mr. Huang Gang is now in the First Ward in Shenyang Prison. On July 27, 2008, he appealed to a relevant department, but his appeal was rejected without reason.

Mr. Huang Gang was tortured on a Tiger Bench. It is a special iron chair with iron rings on either side in which the arms are placed and held in place with screws. The feet are placed in iron shackles weighing over ten kilograms. The victim cannot move. After a while, the hands and feet become swollen. Mr. Huang is now on a hunger strike.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Qingtao Arrested Again after an Unjust Charge

Mr. Liu Qingtao from the Jinzhou District, Dalian City, was arrested in 1999 and imprisoned for five years. At the end of July 2006, he was detained in Yaojia Detention Center for another two years. On August 1, 2008, his mother and friends went to Yaojia Detention Center to pick him up, but after he was released, he was forced to get into a police car by officers from Zhongchang Police Station in Jinzhou District, Dalian Ciity, and the 610 Office in the Jinzhou District. Mr. Liu was taken to the Fushun Brainwashing Center for two months.

3. [Hengshui, Heibei Province] Ms. Dai Xinshang Persecuted

Ms. Dai Xinshang, a practitioner in Hengshui City, was arrested on July 11, 2008, for explaining the truth about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to forced labor for a year and is now in Shijiangzhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp. She refused to be handcuffed and was beaten by police. Now she is on a hunger strike and is very weak.

4. [Lingyuan, Jilin Province] Ms. Cao Chunfang Arrested

On the afternoon of July, 29, 2008, police officers broke into the home of Ms. Cao Chunfang and confiscated a computer, a printer, a disc burner, etc. Afterwards they arrested Ms. Cao and took her to the Lingyuan City Public Security Bureau Detention Center.

5. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

On July 30, 2008, Ms. Mu Yihua was arrested and is now in Baishan Detention Center. From July 31 to August 1, Ms. Liu Kai, and Ms. Wang Guirong were also arrested.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Gao Jinye and Ms. Shi Guixiang from the Changping District Detained in Chaofeng'an Forced Labor Camp

7. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Heshun and Her Husband, Nan Zhenxin, Arrested

In the morning on July 9, 2008, police in Qingzhou City arrested Mr. Nan Zhenxin and Ms. Yuan Heshun "in preparation for the Olympic Games." Things at home were confiscated. They are now in the detention center.

The couple were previously sentenced to eight years, and had just been released in May 2008.

8. [Wucheng County, Shandong Province] A Practitioner and His Family Members Arrested

On July 29, 2008, the police arrested Mr. Zhang Hengyu; his son, Mr. Zhang Shijie; Ms. Liu Bingqin; and Ms. Liu Jifen. They are now in Wucheng Detention Center.

9. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Mr. Dong Min Arrested

In the afternoon on July 18, 2008, Mr. Dong Min in Weizhuang Villag, was arrested by Zhang Zhanying, Director of Wanli Rural Police Station in Suning County, Heibei Province. His home was ransacked.

10. [Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province] On July 24, 2008, Ms. Dading and Ms. Sanding from Qiaoxi, Zhangjiakou, Were Arrested

11. [Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province] Many Practitioners Arrested

In Ertaizi Village, Yaojiafang Rural, Gaoxin District, Zhangjiakou, the following practitioners were arrested on July 27: Ms. Zhao Jinlian and her son, Mr. Wang Pengjie; Ms. Wu Juntao; Ms. Chen Jinlan; Ms. Wang Dengmei; Mr. Xu Long; Ms. Xu Dongping and her child, who is less than one year old; and Yuan Sumei. Zhao Jinlian is now in a local detention center, Wang Pengjie is missing, and others are being detained in Yaojiafang Town Middle School.

12. [Hengshui, Heibei Province] Ms. Chuai Huahui Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp for One Year, Sent to Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp

13. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Lu Yong Arrested

On July 22, 2008, Ms. Lu Yong in Qicun Nursing Home in the Xinfu District, Xinzhou City, about 40 years old, was arrested by police from the sanatorium in Qi Village, Xinfu District Public Security Bureau in Xinzhou City and the 610 Office. Her home was ransacked.

14. [Inner Mongolia] Two Practitoiners Arrested

At around three o'clock in the afternoon of July 31, 2008, Mr. Zhang Fajun and Ms. Zheng Baozhen were arrested by personnel from the Political and Legal Committee and the 610 Office in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia. They are being detained in No.2 Vocational High School in Yakeshi City.

15. [Mei County, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Yuwan Arrested

Around nine o'clock in the morning on July 8, 2008, Ms. Chen Yuwan, a teacher in Bingcun Town, Mei County, Meizhou City, was arrested by police at school. She was taken to Sanshui District Brainwashing Center in Foshan, Guangdong Province.

16. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Practitioner Severely Injured in Body and Mind

Fan Zefu of Dingcheng District, Changde City, about 40 years old, was arrested on the evening of July 27, 2008. This practitioner has been arrested many times. Mental hospital personnel injected unknown drugs, causing severe damage, both mental and physical.

17. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hou Guangtao's Home Ransacked

At around 10 a.m. on August 1, 2008, officers from Xinglong Town Police Station broke into the home of Ms. Hou Guangtao and ransacked it. All her Dafa books, Master's portraits, exercise tapes, and Dafa materials were confiscated.

18. [Gulin County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xu Yukai and Ms. Chen Zhaofen Arrested

At noon of July 30, 2008, Mr. Xu Yukai and Ms. Chen Zhaofen were arrested by officers from Taiping Town Police Station. They were searched and their homes ransacked. Many Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated. Now they are in Gulin Detention Center.

19. [Taiyuan, Shanxi Province] Mr. Dong Suwei Illegally Sentenced to Forced Labor for a Year

20. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ge Guangqi Arrested

Mr. Ge Guangqi from Nanbo Village, Jiangta, Laiyang City, was arrested by officers from Laiyang Police Station and Jiangtuan Police Station at noon on August 4, 2008. Many Dafa books were confiscated.

21. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhu Jialin Arrested

Ms. Zhu Jialin, who is retired from Sichuan University, was arrested in Zongbei Community on July 31, 2008. She is now in Wangjianglu Police Station.

22. [Tahe County, Heilongjiang Province] Details about the Arrest of Ms. Meng Zhaohong Beomg

Ms. Meng Zhaohong in Tahe County, Daxing'anling District, was reported when she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong. At noon on July 23, 2008, she was arrested by the deputy director of Tahe County Public Security Bureau and others. Many Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, and a TV were confiscated. Seven bankbooks and 1,000 yuan cash were confiscated. Ms. Meng is now in the Tahe Detention Center.

23. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiulan, Ms. Huiru, and Ms. Tang Ping Arrested

Around five o'clock in the afternoon on August 4, 2008, Ms. Zhang Xiulan, Ms. Huiru, Ms. Tang Ping from Zhaolingpu, Shijiazhuang City, were arrested by officers from Shigang Street Police Station in Shijiazhuang City.

24. [Xi'an, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Zhirong Arrested

Around six o'clock in the morning on August 4, 2008, Ms. Li Zhirong was arrested at her home by seven or eight policemen from Lianhu, Xi'an. Dafa books and MP3 were confiscated.

25. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shao Min Arrested

Ms. Shao Min in Bunan Village, Jiling Town, Zhaoyuan City, 45 years old, was arrested by personnel with the 610 Office and Jinling Town Police Station on August 4, 2008. A laptop was confiscated. The officials ransacked the homes of her two brothers.

26. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Mr. Tian Xiaodong Arrested

On the morning of August 4, 2008, Mr. Tian Xiaodong in Changchun Railroad Vehicle Segment was taken away officials from Ziyoudalu Police Station and the street committee. He was taken to a brainwashing center.

27. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhao Xiuyun Missing

Ms. Zhao Xiuyun, about 50 years old, lives in Luxuan Village, Baiguantun Town, Tangshan City. On July 3, 2008, she was arrested by local police when explaining the facts about Falun Gong and now is missing.

28. [Handan City, Hebei Province] On July 29, 2008, Ms. Zhang Xiurong and Ms. Zhang Shulian in Dongzhuang, Congtai District, Handan City, Were Arrested

29. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Jinzhi and Ms. Xing Ruifen Arrested

Ms. Fu Jinzhi and Ms. Xing Ruifen from Jiangdian Rural, Gaotang County, Liaocheng District, were arrested by local police in the morning on August 3, 2008. Now they are missing.

30. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Around 11:30 a.m. on August 4, 2008, Ms. Liu Yonghong Was Arrested by Officers in Xinji Town Police Station in Sanhe City

31. [Heilongjiang Province] On July 29, 2008, Ms. Peng Yamei and Mr. Wu Lixin in Friendship Farm Were Arrested

32. [Anshan, Liaoning Province] Mr. Shi Wei Illegally Arrested

Mr. Shi Wei from Anshan was illegally arrested by Section One of the Anshan Police Station, Lishan Branch, and Industry Police Station around ten o'clock in the evening on August 4, 2008.

33. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Dozens of Practitioners Illegally Detained in Dabailou Detention Center

On July 9, 2008, dozens of practitioners in Benxi City were arrested and detained in Dabailou Detention Center in Benxi. In detention they were not given enough to eat, were forced to to hard labor, and were beaten and insulted.

Now over 20 female and over 30 male practitoiners are being "illegally detained" in Dabailou Detention Center.

34. [Qianxi County, Hebei Province] Supplementary Information on the Persecution of Ms. Wang Shuyan

Ms. Wang Shuyan of Qianxi County was reported when she telling people the facts about Falun Gong to her neighbors' child, whom she tutored on the morning of July 29. She was arrested by police officers from Chengguan Branch. She is now in a county detention center. Her Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated.

35. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Li Qing and Her Daughter Were Arrested

Ms. Li Qing in Mengyin County, Shandong Province, 38 years old, is the head of the treasury section and deputy manager of the Ninth Team in Cars. At noon on July 29, 2008, three officials from 610 Office of Mengyin County Public Security Bureau went to Ms. Li's department, forcibly searched her desk, and confiscated truth-clarifying materials. Li Qing is now in the Mengyin County Detention Center

Ms. Li Qing's daughter, just over ten years old, was located while visiting the Minghui (Chinese version of Clearwisdom) website and was consequently arrested.
