(Clearwisdom.net) On August 4, 2008, Ms. Yuan Jieling and Ms. Liu Huirong, both from Gaozhou City in Guangdong Province, went to Xieji Town to clarify the facts about Falun Gong, but were illegally arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel, and then illegally imprisoned at the Gaozhou Municipal Detention Center (formerly known as the Gaozhou Municipal Second Detention Center). Ms. Liu's home was ransacked and her personal belongings were confiscated on the same day she was arrested.
Two days later, family members went to see Ms. Yuan at the detention center. The staff there told them that since she had been taken there by the State Security Division, they would have to wait several days to see her. Her family visited the center several more times, but each time were unable to see her.
On August 19, both practitioners were taken to the Hexi Brainwashing Center in Maoming City, and their family members were prohibited from seeing them.
Before Ms. Yuan started practicing Falun Gong in 1998, she was plagued with many illnesses. After doing the exercises, and living according to Falun Gong's standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she was soon in good health again.
When the CCP started recklessly persecuting Falun Gong after July 20, 1999, Ms. Yuan went to Beijing to appeal. In February 2000 she was arrested and taken back to her home city, where she was illegally imprisoned in the Shigu Drug Rehabilitation Center for fifteen days.
In May 2000, while participating in group Falun Gong exercises, Ms. Yuan was again arrested and imprisoned at the Shigu Drug Rehabilitation Center for another fifteen days.
In December 2000, Ms. Yuan again went to Beijing to appeal but was illegally detained for one-and-a-half days by officers from the Laishui County Police Department of Hebei Province. The reason they gave for her arrest was that she wasn't carrying her "three required IDs."
Ms. Yuan was savagely beaten and interrogated many times while in detention. The perpetrators also stole all of her personal belongings. Later the liaison offices in Beijing and Gaozhou City were notified of her arrest and directors Huang, Zhan Jie, and Lai Guanhui came to Laishui County to claim Ms. Yuan.
Once they got a hold of her, they brought in about a dozen police officers to savagely beat her and then took her to nearby Yangqiao Community, Beijing, where she was imprisoned. In an effort to escape another round of brutal persecution, Ms. Yuan jumped from an upper story window and suffered severe injuries.
Since the CCP tries to capitalize on such events, they tried to shoot a false news story intending to deceive the TV audience about Falun Gong. Because Ms. Yuan refused to go along with their ploy, she was illegally sentenced to seven years in the Guangzhou Women's Prison in Shaoguan City (Guangdong Province), by the Gaozhou Municipal Court. She was later released in December 2007.
Ms. Liu Huirong lives in Wuliang Village of Xian Neighborhood Office in Gaozhou City. Before she started practicing Falun Gong in 1998, she suffered from severe nephrosis for nearly ten years. During that time, she tried multiple treatments but not one of them worked. However, after practicing Falun Gong for just a few days, her health was completely restored.
When Ms. Liu went to Beijing to clarify the facts about Falun Gong in December 2000, she was arrested and taken back to Gaozhou City, where she was imprisoned at the First Detention Center. It was only when the guards persecuted her to the point of near death that she was released on bail for medical treatment. However, she was still subject to three years of constant monitoring, by local authorities.
Ms. Liu's younger sister, who worked at the Guangzhou Forced Labor Camp, constantly disturbed Ms. Liu Huirong so that she was unable to calmly study the Fa and do the exercises. Gradually Ms. Liu slacked off in her cultivation.
When Wu Wenqiong, a female ex-practitioner from Gaozhou City who betrayed Dafa, told Ms. Liu false things about Dafa, Ms. Liu deviated from the path of cultivation and only managed to return to Dafa last year. In order to make up her wrongdoings, she diligently clarified the facts about Dafa to everyone who would listen.
On August 4 she was arrested in Xieji Town, but because she didn't cooperate with the arresting officer, she was sent to the Hexi Brainwashing Center in Maoming City.
