On the evenings of July 10 and 21, 2008, officers from the National Security Team and the Xuwan Police Station in Huaiyang County climbed over the wall and broke into the home of 60-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner He Hongliang to arrest him. He was not at home at the time.
When the police broke in on July 21, they confiscated Mr. He's belongings. They also ransacked his older and younger brothers' homes. They threatened his brothers that, if they did not turn their brother in, they would be arrested, too. The police confiscated Mr. He's brother's (not a Falun Gong practitioner) personal computer. Neighbors were shocked and frightened by the use of violence on the part of the police.
Huaiyang County authorities have incessantly harassed and persecuted He Hongliang since July 1999, because he refuses to give up his belief in Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance.
Back on January 7, 2001, at about 10 p.m., officer Peng Zuomin and four policemen from the Xuwan Police Station in Huaiyang County broke into Mr. He's home. They did not have a search warrant, yet they confiscated his property. They turned his home upside down, but did not find any "evidence" (books, flyers, etc. related to Falun Gong). He was forcibly taken to the Xuwan Police Station without any warrants. After being detained for two days, he was sent to the Huaiyang County Police Department. Police officer Chen Jiachang interrogated him. The national security police then detained him in the detention center.
In the detention center, the prison guards forbade Mr. He from doing the Falun Gong exercises. Guard Wu threatened him, saying, "You cannot practice Falun Gong here. If we find you practicing Falun Gong, we will beat you to death." After being detained for a while, he was transferred to another detention center and forced to attend a brainwashing session. This time he was detained for a total of 28 days and had 2,000 yuan extorted from him.
On the morning of October 16, 2001, Mr. He returned home from his temporary job in Zhoukou. Police officer Li Changfeng from the Huaiyang County National Security Team and other officers showed up at his home. Li said, "You went out to work for such a long time. We all came to visit you." Then National Security Officers Wang Quandong (who had a pistol on his hip) and Zhuang Anzheng, policeman Yang Nianfu from Xuwan Police Station, and others rushed in and searched his home. Although they turned the house upside down, they did not find anything illegal. The officers said, "Let's go to the police station to have a talk. We will let you go very soon." Mr. He knew this was a lie and refused to go. Officer Yang Nianfu and others dragged him outside and pushed him into the waiting police car. They took him to the Huaiyang County Police Department for interrogation. Later he was transferred to the detention center.
In the detention center, Mr. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He did not eat anything for eight days, and he became extremely weak. Cheng Sigui, assistant director of the detention center, tied him up to a fixed chair and administered bottles of unidentified drugs. He was bound to the chair very tightly, and the ropes cut into his flesh. He could not move at all. Zhang Duoshu, the prison doctor, said, "Since you have money, we will give you four infusions of medicine." (The police extort money from detainees' families for the cost of drugs used in torture.) Cheng Sigui said, "You don't even stand a chance. Falun Gong practitioners taller, stronger, and younger than you have been "transformed" by this torture." The prison doctor could not find Mr. He's vein. They then switched to force feeding. One person pulled his head back while another clamped his nose shut. Officer Zhang Duoshu used a screwdriver to pry open his mouth and brutally fed him through a tube. He was force fed once a day for 14 days. Then he was dragged from his cell to the courtyard. A female officer in the National Security Team saw him and told the other officers, "You cannot force feed him anymore. He may die in two days." The detention center had to release Mr. He, but they extorted another 2,000 yuan from his family before they did.
Nowadays in China, bad people run the country, and the good people can barely survive. Mr. He Hongliang just wanted to be a good person, but the CCP does not allow that and has brutally persecuted him. As of now, Mr. He and his wife still cannot go home for fear of continued persecution. There is no one to take care of their cotton and corn fields.
