(Clearwisdom.net) Since February 2008, six practitioners in Qiyang County, Hunan Province were arrested under the excuse of "maintaining Olympic security" by county CCP Political and Judiciary Committee, the 610 Office, the Police Department, and the Domestic Security Section.
At the end of February 2008, officers from the Taozhu Road Police Station arrested Ms. Hu Ailian, Ms. Tang Yuanying and Ms. Zou (first name unknown) while they were clarifying the truth in the old commodity bureau dormitory in the East River Bridge area. Ms. Tang and Ms. Zou were released in May after the police extorted more than 10,000 yuan from them.
On July 5, 2008, Ms. Yang Jianxiu was arrested by two officers while distributing truth-clarification materials in the Baihua Community on Taozhu Road. She is now held at a detention center.
On July 16, 2008, Mr. Yu Fubao disappeared. Villagers said that he was arrested. Prior to Mr. Yu's disappearance, police from the Baozhu Town Police Station had tried to arrested him many times without success. However, this is not the first time that Mr. Yu Fubao has been imprisoned; he has been in and out of prison many times since the persecution began. His family life has been completely disrupted and is in total chaos under the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party. Mr. Yu and his wife are farmers. Since last year, his wife has been imprisoned at the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. Since Mr. Yu is no longer around either, the rice in his field sits ready to harvest and the fish in his pond go hungry.
At 9 p.m. on July 22, 2008, two police officers arrested Ms. Zou Jinfeng, in her 70s, from Qiyang County, Hunan Province, while she was distributing truth-clarification materials in an alley close to the county's traditional Chinese medicine hospital. She was first detained at the police department for two days and was then transferred to a detention center.
